EDIT: Guys, I really don't get what is with saying the old one is better. No one wants to be told that, and I'm really getting sick of hearing it, please stop.The old version became my most favourited deviation out of both of my accounts, and that bothers me because I really don't like it, so I redrew it.
I actually don't like this one either but I haven't updated in a while so yeah.

I mean he's 13? unless you mean compared to the old version, in which case I felt like I drew him looking too old there so I tried drawing him closer to his age in the new version

The old one has a certain charm to it but this one is definitely better! It's so obvious how much you improved just looking at these two pieces side by side and this one is just better! But it's a lovely piece and very well executed.

Why is it rude?
I just like the old one more, and that is my personal opinion. I did not say I dislike the remake.

It's rude because the artist wrote in the description that they don't want to see anymore people saying that they like the original more. It bothers them and they want people to stop. That, and it basically undermines all of the progress they've made as an artist. Like all the work they've put in between now and then has done nothing for them. Also it implies that the remake is bad.

You know, I don't think that edit was there before I wrote this, and sorry for anything I did bad.
I'm not saying the artist got worse, I just like the old one more because on the new one it seems like Karkat is younger, and I just liked the more mature looking Karkat. This is my personal opinion on it, and as said, I don't think the edit was there when I wrote it.

That's fine I suppose. But next time I'd tell the artist why you like the other version better. It doesn't do them any good otherwise.

I sort of think this version would better fit the younger Karkat, around when the comic first met him. Β The first one seems to me like it would be more of the teenage Karkat.
I mean, both are great! Β Don't get me wrong, both are awesome in their own unique ways. Β Good job!!

I like the expression of the older image, in fairness, but the new one is absolutely and objectively better, more skillful and more beautiful. Both rock

I don't think people like the old one because it's better artwork but because Karkat looks older and more serious.
I think the shading and style is much better in this one, but I love them both. ;c;

I personally love them both. I remember the old one being on of the first pieces of homestuck fanart i ever saw, and seeing improvement on it makes me really happy! They are both adorable and awesome in their own different styles.

Wow. I got here via the old one, but, man, the improvement- Wow. I love them both, but look at Karkat's NOSE! Look at it~ It's so cute and small and detailed and shiny, and this one seems less foggy than the old one, and definitely more detailed. I LOVE how his skin looks, and it's so perfect, look at that scrunchy crabbiness. I am doof. Let me love you....

He is not an OC, I wrote at the bottom of the artist comment that he is from Homestuck (a webcomic) and is copyrighted to Andrew Hussie, the creator.

Don't get me wrong, I think the old one was wonderful too, but I like this one more. He looks so feisty here (that sounded creepy lol) there's a lot more personality and depth with your shading!

Wow! You've really improved! The only thing I can see about the old one that's "better" is that his horns are more accurately curved in the old one. Love his expression in this one.

The old version is very flat looking, good, but flat while this has dimension and life to it. The shines in the corner of his eyes, the little button nose. I think if his hair had a bit more highlights it'd look even better, because the hair looks a little flat compared to his skin/face. but it also draws your eyes into the face more and makes you look at the details in the face and skin more than the hair.
Overall I reaaaally like this 83 it's really great and very painterly and guh, I just really like it. He does look more age appropriate and the vast improvement between this and the old version is phenomenal really. Great improvement for a little over a year
