"From the diary belonging to a lost ranger, found deep within the swamp.

"False Bone Collectors"
A fellow ranger told me that she had caught a glimpse of what looked like smaller BC's (Bone Collectors) on her latest mission, so I decided to investigate it. After traveling deep into the swamp, I spotted three of them. Small humanoid creatures that showed a moderate level of intelligence. And true enough, they looked like little BC. They wore similar masks and clothes and it even looked like they had gathered bones.

I managed to get close enough to get a better look and I found out that their skin was actually red. They had painted their bodies with a strange blue liquid. The "bones" they had collected were actually carved out of wood. My first thought was that these creatures mimic the BC's to scare away enemies and that the bones are made of wood so as not to draw the attention of the real BCs.

But that's not all there is to it. There's something sinister about them, maybe even supernatural. I never heard them talk to each other, but when the night came I could hear them singing in a strange language. I heard the song again in my dreams and I could understand the words. They sang about how they knew I was stalking them and that they had lured me here. This morning I saw that more of them had arrived and they have started to build an altar of some kind.

I know I'll never leave this swamp."
