no just my personal view.
ben 10 was a good little show interesting characters with a good balance between them and action.gwen having magic kept things from getting too stall but she never out did ben keepig clearly the star.
thats what I liked about ben 10 and the other hand alien force retconed all of this away.
ben went from star of the show to playing the mentor role which while good for the other characters was bad in my eyes because I had no interest in any of them. hell Ben's human girlfriend felt more important to the story then he did most of the time. this is from a guy that loves strong female characters, but to me when the story is named after a character that character should be the focus of the story. instead we get hte kevin gwen love fest, which makes no sense if you watched ben 10, taking up most of the air time.
lets not forget there is no magic so that had to make gewn the only half alien ( once removed at that) in the who family.that made no sense at all because its the only time in a whole show full alien human hybrids it happens. besides taking away an interesting plot twist its bad writing to brake you own rules.
I could go on with Kevin, the useless knock off aliens they came up with and even what they did to the omnitrix but I'll end here
in the end if alien force was a completely new show with new charcters I may have liked it better. but it lost to much of what I liked about ben 10 for me to like it.

Your explanation does not make sense!Gwen still use magic(the final battle) and Kevin and Gwen Loveing is not takin up the whole show.Ben is the main focus of the show.And now Gwen is half anodite makin her more interesting.Having to do magic and being an anodite.and twisting the plot?They twist the plot for the better.Part 2 ltr

no go watch the episode where hey find out Gwen was half anoite they clearly say magic does not exist that it was always anodite part of her that gave her the power all along (episode "What Are Little Girls Made Of"). If they let Gwen use magic in later episodes its because they understood they messed up and so ret coned the story again. so when I stopped watching it wasn't she could use magic and was an alien it was she's just an alien and honestly the whole being a hybrid takes away from her character for me. Ben does the aliens, thatβs his thing, Gwen using magic made her interesting because her powers had nothing to do with aliens.
It made her special because she was the only one to have it now she's just another alien.
as for Ben sure he seems back to the forefront in the one or two "ultimate alien" episodes I've seen but in Ben 10 alien force Ben was more or less a plot device. he sat there talking the new hybrid "you can do it" then stepping in when the writer needed something to blow up. I get it they were trying to build up the new kids so you would care about them in the "war" with the DNA aliens but I had no interest in them.
Again maybe ultimate alien is better but alien force was so bad I stopped watching

Who say Magic doesn't exist?If magic doesn't exist then how did Gwen did the spell in the final battle?And they didn't bring magic back because they messed up.And Gwen with mana and magic is so much interesting.Gwen was so annoying when she was 10.She so much better in alien force.Now she's just another alien?She's more special than that!She's black belt in karate too.Continue later

gwens father did then told her she had powers because of his mother and said grandmother basicly second the comment in her little story time right after.they even wrote gwen saying she didn't use magic a few episods later i believe.she said no spells and used no books or charms until after the end of the dna war.so why did they start saying she used magic again 20 plus episodes and maybe a seasons or two later? easy the writers changed there minds.its no amazing it happens all the time in tv shows. just look at how in alien force they said there was only meant to be one omnitrix but the little gray guy was building a second one later. writers change their minds on that so they could spice things up wen they wrote ultimate alien.
and yes I see her as just another alien with powers.
being human and having power made her interestig to me because she wasthe only human with power. Bex and max power came from the teck they used and everyone els was part alien some how. but gwen was pure human and had power, a power ben couldn't copy.now shes just one of the 100's of super powered aliens in the show. and if ben can become alien X he could just dail it up and do everything gwen can.
that takes alot away from her character for me.
If you like her thats fine and I'm glad they've brought back magic but to me the story lost a lot.

nither did I but I was already upset about getting rid of magic anyway. I thought that was one of the stid things te writers did when they started the later ben 10's
