Description
Another Ranger's Apprentice art! This is Gilan and his mare, Blaze waiting for someone on the trail(not a friend obviously). Unlike a few of my RA art there was no scenary photo for the background forest, thats why it doesnt look as good as it could have been. *sigh*
Anyway Gilan and Blaze belong to John Flanagan; art is mine.

So well done! I love the Ranger's Apprentice Series (please become a movie soon, the rights were sold in 2008!)

This is really neat, and I have just one question... You see the Ranger's horses with English saddles and not Western? Its just a thing really because I like how you drew it!!
(okay, that was lame, but I was wondering myself what kind of saddles they had!)

well part of the reason that they have english is (for me) that they are easier to draw. plus i ride english myself so i know these saddles inside out. but i think they would use endurance or aussie saddles. both of them have a western look to them but are lighter weight. if i were a ranger, i would want something lightweight and comfortable with the abilliy to strap all sorts of packs and my bow to it; ego the aussie stile. plus the auther of the Ranger's Apprentice is from Australia. soo i hope that answered your question! (and it wasnt a lame question. it was a really obsevent one )

Haha, thanks for clarifying that for me! I too believe that the Rangers would use English saddles, or the Aussie saddles because they have no need for the horn. I ride more western though, but enjoy English riding because it makes me feel more like an endurance rider!
It makes me wonder what kind of extra equipment and hidden weapons they might stash on their saddles...now I'll have to try to draw one

Yep no problem! the horn would get in the wya especially with a bow and cloak . hmm
...yes I wonder how many weapons they can hide because those D rings could be removible. Looking forward to see your drawing!

I really like this! My only critique would be that the neck of the horse is a bit long.
