I believe that Tails should be a girl as well. I think of Tails as a girl all the times these days, and it sound right that Tails should have been left a girl by Sega before releasing Sonic The Hedgehog 2. I think that made a huge mistake of making Tails a boy instead of a girl with Sonic.
The thing is my favorite couple I see in fanfictions and fanart is Sonic and Female tails, they go very well together. And they should because they are really good friends to each other and since Tails would be a girl, he would have romance feelings for her. Heck I have a few fanfictions faved under the same user name of this site at [link] .
So were I will always stand if that Tails should be always left as a girl and never a boy!

I remember hearing a rumor before Sonic 2 came out that Tails was a girl. It was back when game magazines were still listing Neo Green Hill, Wood, and Dust Hill as zones in the game though.
