Description
The glaze ran a bit too much and stuck to the kiln shelf, so he had to chip it away around the whole bottom. Damn. But I still think it's pretty nice. Maybe I'll try another like it, with a little more care about the bottom edge glazing ....Glaze - Nat's Gold w/almost invisible DDIR on the rim.
Red stoneware.
Cone 10.
Gas-fired.

What's cool about this is that, at least in the photo, it has a "wooden" quality to it.
How did my mug turn out?

It is kind of woody looking, isn't it?
Here's the mug report -
This was the most productive group of students ever, so we had too much to fit it all in the kiln. There will be another firing in about a month, when Rick the Potter has made enough pieces to add to the remaining student pieces, to fill the kiln again. Your cup is glazed, but not yet fired, I'm afraid. It will be in the next firing. It will be dark red, with hints of rust. It seems this mug has it's own destiny to fulfill; I hope that means it is time for it to be fired at the next firing.

I love the design and the color of this one. It would make a nice twosome with the bowl - cereal and coffee Beautiful!
