I found some unaired Penguins of Madagascar episodes and started watching them... and they reignited my love for the show...And I'm sorry to all villains, but Dr. Blowhole is one of my favorites, if not the favorite on my list.
So... instead of working on commissions... which I was SUPPOSED to be doing, I drew the crazed dolphin.

Villain's are quite interesting, well most of them, he's definitely one of my favourites villains too. I love the concept of a villainous dolphin and his cyborg eye is just awesome! I'm a big fan of character design and he hasn't only got that going for him! The background stories that fans speculate for Dr.Blowhole are also pretty interesting.

Agreed 100%. He has a background that is intriguing to try to figure out, and he's extremely vile at the same time as never seeming to really WANT to kill the penguins. I don't think he's a killer beyond his villainous role.

Agreed! He is quite dastardly but I don't think he intends to actually kill the penguins either. What's a villain without his arch enemies? All villain needs at least one.

I think Blowhole is more focused on making the humans suffer, which is why he doesn't so much care about the penguins.

To be fair with what the humans have done to Him I don't blame him. Even if his actions are quite vile he has reason and I can't ignore the random little dolphin noises he makes sometimes, especially when he is laughing! It's oddly cute.
Even his mannerism is great and I can honestly say he makes me laugh sometimes. The humour is just comedy gold from that show, there isn't much toilet humour either and that's a good thing; I really hate toilet humour. The show is just beautifully sarcastic and just generally funny in terms of the odd remark and comment.
For me it's the way the characters interact with one another that makes the show so great! Especially when Blowhole sings with Kowalski and when he sings with Skipper.

Finally! Another person who likes humor but not toilet humor! That's partly why I can hardly stand that show focused on King Jullian that's airing on Netflix. All Hail King Jullian, I think it's called.
That's a big part of it. They make it so humorous and allows so much character development without making any of them Mary or Gary Stus.

Really? I saw All Hail King Jullian advertised and wasn't so interested. I don't think it sounds very good at all especially if they have that sort of humour in it. I don't think Jullian is a bad character I just don't think he does well in his own show. He's not too bad in Madagascar and is OKAY in POM but I don't think his character would work so well without the penguins or the others from Madagascar. It's a shame because I do actually like Jullian too, I think he was awesome in the Madagascar films and POM television series so it's a shame this All Hail King Jullian had to ruin that for him. Well it sounds as if that has happened anyway.
Agreed. That's why we love our penguins. I find POM so much funnier as I've gotten older! And for a kids television show that is pretty impressive! It is hilarious and makes me really happy!

The plots of the show are okay and give a bit more depth to his history but the humor in it is just... terrible. And I agree that Jullian is a better character with the penguins. I really like Jullian in the movies, though, the best. He's just a little overly... I don't know... in the shows. There's something different about him and I'm not sure what.
Yeah, and the animation is pretty brilliant as well for what it is. Of course, I think the best movie-to-show animated series I've seen is Riders of Berk for How to Train Your Dragon. By golly that was amazing, but Penguins of Madagascar is far more successful all around, I think, even if it doesn't have quite as glossy animation.

I LOVE HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON! And Riders Of Berk is awesome! The mannerisms of Hiccup and Astrid are accurate and as for Toothless, the animation couldn't be anymore like the actual movies...well maybe just a teeny bit but not a lot. It is pretty gorgeous anyway.
Tom McGrath has a lot of respect for his characters and I honestly salute to that man for taking on the role of Skipper! I mean before the first Madagascar someone else was going to do Skipper but sadly died so Tom McGrath stepped in! The penguins are literally his characters too, he's the one that wanted them to put in the movie. I can honestly say he is fantastic! And the television show's animation is all around beautiful, I agree. I'm a big fan of art and animation, character designs and all that so to have Dragon Riders Of Berk and The Penguins Of Madagascar as televisions shows is just fantastic! Because they have all those qualities going for them!

The animation was splendid, although there was one bit in one episode (something about the Whispering Death... I can't remember which one) where about a second of the show Stormfly didn't have horns. I had to go back to see if my mind was just playing tricks on me but nope... Stormfly did not have horns for a split second... it is probably one of the weirdest animation mishaps I've seen...
Tom McGarth is awesome! I love his voice acting and the character development he works on. And I can't picture Skipper with anyone else's voice... ever.

Me neither. It's nice to know that he cares so much about these four characters in particular. I mean they started off as side characters. But to be fair even when the first Madagascar came out I loved the penguins, especially because they were just so unusual. "You didn't see anything!" Everyone in my primary school used to say that all the time! It was awesome. So I suppose that's why it didn't surprise me that they made a show about them. In fact I was ecstatic when I first heard about it. And it surely isn't a let down! Like you said the character development is just top notch! Especially in Kowalski, Rico and Private, who really didn't get many lines in the original Madagascar. Even Skipper has had some great character development come to think of it.
Now we're talking about How To Train Your Dragon and Madagascar...I really want to get DreamWork's art books!

Yeah, probably. I still am trying to figure out how it happened... a glitch in the last minute animation? They were on a time crunch and couldn't fix it? A glitch in recording? Nobody noticed? Sorry... it's driving me mad... but yes, the rest is pretty spectacular.
XD Yes, I loved the penguins from the beginning as well! They're so unique... and their existence itself is a pretty awesome cover story. Who would have thought?! And ah, yes, good ol' Kowalski. Probably my favorite of the penguins (Skipper comes mighty close to first though...). He's just such a fun character.

It makes sense that you are trying to figure out how the glitch happened. It means you're really dedicated to the show and how could you not be? It's Riders Of Berk! It's actually awesome that you notice such things.
Oh, yeah Kowalski is great! I think in terms of reactions to things his reactions are the best! Especially, when he's all excited about science! He really does get extremely excited about that stuff. :3 Bless him.
Skipper's pretty fun, I wouldn't mind working for him, really, you'd never get bored. :3

Yeah, you'd never get bored alright, but I don't think I'd want to work for him. Normal days are fine... but with so many criminals on his tail, you get put under the list of people they want killed or destroyed too.

I would like to be a voice actor/character designer. Maybe do a mix of animated film and game projects. Probably doing concept art.

Yeah, you're right. There is actually quite a few bad guys, which when I first started watching the show, actually surprised me. And to be fair most of the villains are top notch. I do like Blowhole and Hans..., Dave is cool too. Not sure what I think about Clemson, Savio and The
Amarillo Kid though...or Officer X. I don't know, they are okay characters. I just think villain wise Dr.Blowhole, Hans and Dave are my preferred penguin enemies.
It's weird with Hans though because there is something oddly friendly about him. Especially, in the episode Best Foes where he actually teams up with Skipper because of another one of poor Kowalski's inventions going wrong and gets jealous of Jullian and Skipper. It's probably something to do with their past in Denmark.

Yeah, Kowalski's actor probably has a heck of a fun time playing him.
I think my favorite villains are the same, but I do like Savio as well. Clemson is, eh, okay, I don't like Amarillo Kid, and I don't mind Officer X. But yes, Dave, Blwohole, and Hans are definitely the best.
Hans is an interesting character. And I remember that episode... that one was... interesting. I guess I both loved it because you actually see Skipper being somewhat open with someone, but I hated it because the SkipperXHans pairing REALLY irks me. I mean, I can definitely see Hans liking Skipper that way, but... Skipper? No. Never. Skipper's just... you can tell that Hans was/is a very good friend from his past, but... ehhh...

I think it's because Blowhole, Hans and Dave actually have a large background story, if that's fair to say. And they are all quite unique. Who doesn't love an evil dolphin? Or a Danish Puffin? Or a octopus who feels like he is ugly? :3
Oh, I totally know what you are saying. SkipperXHans is probably more one-sided. I agree it is possible that Hans likes Skipper in that way because he's always trying to get his attention but Skipper is...possibly too paranoid to trust him? Yeah, Skipper couldn't bring himself to trust Hans and that's just the way he is. We could see that in the first episode that Hans shows up in. Skipper just won't even accept him as a friend because he can't because he is just so paranoid and with good reason. We don't know what happened in Denmark and there is just something about Skipper anyway; he just can't relax. It's like he feels like he's going to be attacked all the time..., which actually happens quite a lot but it's a shame that he's like that. Especially when the other three are having a nice time and being all relaxed, he's just not able to do that.-Sorry, I always do this. XD I always talk about characters as if they were real.

XD I don't think it's so much the penguins he's after, it's mankind. If you look through the story part of propwashforever.deviantart.com… , then you see that he wanted to go back in time to destroy the branch mankind originated from.
Blowhole just spares the penguins too many times in order to classify them as a priority, I think. He probably couldn't kill them himself unless he was forced to... or was in some weird rage. Because if you look at the episodes he's in, he has had so many chances to kill or destroy them for who they are... and yet he goes back to their side.
He's also mad at the humans (it is assumed) for the loss of his eye during a hoop jump of the ring of fire. He's more obsessed over getting revenge there than getting revenge of the penguins.
Then again, if he would have the idea, he might take it... but I don't think even Blowhole really knows where any of the penguins come from.
Not bashing you, just analyzing everything. I do love the idea though.
