Ah, the pointy hatted folk have (glumly and sedately) taken to the air!
The observers on the shore are thinking, "Okay, but too much wind resistance in the handles."
Looks like it has been painted on wood or silk. Ethereal, as always, and stranger than strangeness. Love it.

I hope you might enjoy this poem inspired by the Voyage of the Balloon men.
Once upon an afternoon,
Each in his own small cup balloon,
A luminescent company
Took flight across a golden sea.
The air was cool, the sky was gleaming
Into that silken bluescape streaming
The cup balloons sailed one by one
Like airy lanterns in the sun.
The tiny folk who ventured boldly
Over waters wide and lonely,
Set their sights upon the shore
Of Humpydon, the long nosed boar.
In veils of gold the cups they flew
Toward the land where lilies grew
And hedgehogs waited eagerly
For celebratory scones and tea.
I do not know if βere they landed
Upon those cliffs so softly sanded
Where tufted grasses grew in clumps
And cup ships touched down with no bumps.
It is a mystery none can fathom,
But in a lofty cliff top cavern,
A scroll does say that once there flew
Balloon men in tall hats of blue.
And that their cup ships there were tied
By the handles on the side,
And as the years went by there grew
A tale of sky ships and their crew
That came one evening on the breeze
And built a castle in the trees.
Some people laugh and others chuckle
Some find a clip, some find a buckle,
But nowhere can they find the berth
Where the balloon men came to earth.

Thank you for a look into your wonderful fantasy world. Always makes one think, smile, wonder and have odd feelings of identification.
