I Used Timblr Sketchup to model it. And the best the software is for free!

next thing you know the military uses the design and puts it into service to counter the Abrams and the Leopard 2

Compete? No need to compete. More stuff is more better, I'd say! And you're designs are brilliant.

I guess part of it is patience which i dont (under normal circumstances) have. And i think your stuff is better but thanks

Patience or pure stupidity, sometimes i don't know what it is. And thanks!

i have a few questions, are all or most of the pieces on there, there for a purpose? also the cages you made on here that are on the right side i find difficult to make, is there any technique for that or is it just patience as well? basically what im asking is there a better and faster way to use the follow me tool?

Yep, all things are meant for a purpose, although some may be silly in reality, as I got no real clue about tank sensors/weapons and the like. Only did the normal google research.
Is the cage on the right side the one with the three boxes on it?Cause that one was done with the follow me tool. There is a tube along path tool, which would make life easier, but as this only does 24 segmented tubes, it would make the polycount to high so i didn't use it, Otherwise it's great for making such stuff. All in all it doesn't take too long to make such a thing. First do the lines ( only half of them as you can copy paste the other side ), then group the lines/parts which you use for one 'follow me thing' (sorry don't know how better to describe.../ that also helps later if you wanna change the lenght of the lines) and voila, done. As you probably know all that, sorry for repeating, don't wanna sound/be too instructive.
And if you meant another cage, sorry for all the blabbering above.

Yea i guess you use the same method as i do, i just suck at making it look nice. Thanks for the help anyways
And yea that was the right cage, i think next time i'll just try and replicate it a bit to get the feel for it, another problem is i dont know where to place it cause my style of tanks never really look like they need them or even look right on them.
again thanks

Haha. Yeah, no magic at all. Agree with you that some tanks definitely don't need any cages.

Heya! Now you got me again, wandering off to other than OPDS stuff. But the Russian Armor site got me.
The body is gonna be quite simple in the end. Normal T-80 style tank body with an additional seat in the front and another remote weapon station in the back. But I'm open for suggestions...

Of course. Always watching! Nah, I love your stuff even if it's not OPDS related. That's how I discovered your talent in the first place.
If I'm not mistaken, this thing is going to be kind of huge, right? Ever see these classic Venus wars beats? [link]
(not the greatest pik, but I love that old anime, and that super tank).
I've always been partial to segmented tracks in sci-fi tanks. In other words, tracks in 4 separate sections: [link]
but that may not work for what you have in mind.
rear weapon station sounds cool!

Totally love that super heavy tank too! Haven't seen much of venus wars, but what I've seen was great!
Nah not so much talent here.
In the end it's not going to be really huge. I started huge, and got smaller, as I was fiddling with the turret form for a quite some time. Here a pic what I've done of the body so far: [link] but maybe I should go further into the scifi direction and go for something else. Double tracks? hmmm, not so big fan of them, but maybe when they are moveable (urg, well if they can swivel up an down...hope you get what I mean) That an idea? Or should I go for legs? Than it would be eight. Adds more over to the overkill. And I could add a chin gun...
Well I should probably sleep over it.
