Personal project done for my Illustration elective, we had to do a piece based around a common saying, mine was "barking up the wrong tree."Not going to go into a lot of explanation here, but just because you don't agree with someone's beliefs doesn't mean that they're the problem, so always make sure to take a look at yourself before accusing someone else of being hateful. Don't preach love if you spread hate, let's work together to make the world a better place instead of blaming each other.Β

In my personal opinion, this is AMAZING. It really captures what most teenagers/adults have to go through at some point. I'm a Christian as well, and I understand completely what you're trying to say/express. "Everyone gets depressed, it's totally normal." -Gerard Way.
I'm here to finish that quote with, "it'll pass. Everything does."
Depression passes, it's passed for me along with many others. I do feel bad for all the people that've committed suicide. And I only wish that the people who are still dealing with it will keep fighting. Please, keep fighting.

I'm Catholic, gay, and trans, so this really strikes home for me. I was raised Catholic by two amazing parents; baptised, confirmed, I've even been a confirmation sponser. While I'm not super devout in terms of ceremony, I do take comfort in my faith. Because I'm LGBTQ+, I get a lot of other LGBTQ+ people who get angry with me and say things like this. On the flip side, I get lots of Christians who actually are homophobic telling me I'm not a real Catholic. It sucks majorly and makes me want to give up on the community aspect half the time. My fiance is very supportive of me and my faith, but he doesn't share it. In any case, this art is really powerful and I really like it a lot. As for some of the comments here... Flame-Expression isn't claiming she's oppressed at all. She's just saying that aggressive individuals, particularly atheists, like to say stuff like this. And I'd agree. I get it from atheists and other members of the LGBTQ+ community, and it really blows, plus a lot of people in my religion don't want me here. It's hard. This art is perfect, and captures my feelings too, which I think is important! Art should be relatable to many demographics, and that is achieved by this piece.

I'm a firm believer that whichever side resorts to insults and terms such as those featured in this artwork (especially towards people they don't even know to begin with) automatically loses all reason. I get it, I really get it, that it can be tiring and frustrating to deal with hate, but if you turn around and respond back with more hatred, then you're no better than the ones who preach it.
I don't identify with the specific belief featured here, but this is still a very powerful piece of art, you did a very good job with it <3

This is beautiful. The human anatomy is accurate. I love your feral style. I love how you're holding a Bible to your heart. Although we don't die for our Christianity in America, this is still an important issue to be addressed. People scream for tolerance and then don't tolerate Christian beliefs. The contradiction is insane. Wouldn't be surprised if prison was the only thing holding back some of them from killing us :/

Exactly, while this was directly aimed at liberals who accuse Christians of being hateful when they're the ones being hateful, it's partly due to the "Christians" who, as you said, ignore the "and love thy neighbor" part of the verse.
