Aria grinned,looking up at the horizon as they soared over the first jump. “Good girl!” She called out,glancing down at her beloved horse for a split second as they galloped the length of the beach.
She looked ahead,other horses and riders jumping,cantering and galloping through the course. Another jump cleared,Aria felt on top of the world,the salty sea air whipping her hair against her face. They sped through the bay,water splashing up madly behind them. She braced herself for the next jump,clearing it with ease. They carried on the course,tearing up the sand behind them. The small flamingo plush she had strapped to her saddle seemed to be clinging on for dear life: It’s head bobbing wildly in the sheer speed of it all.
Jump after jump,obstacle after obstacle. Aria grinned harder and harder,bigger and bigger. Cleared the next jump.
She could see the trees approaching rapidly,indicating the course was nearly over. They cantered through the trees,swerving,jumping. Aria laughed to herself,having the time of her life,the world seemed so different on horseback.
Barely a few seconds later,they found themselves almost at the end of the course,Aria could see glimpses of the main facility through the densely-packed trees,catching sight of the main barns,indoor arenas and pastures. The cross country course had come to an end.
Aria breathed deeply,her chest rising and falling. That was her adrenaline load for the day! She gazed up at the sky,the dull-grey clouds scattered across it had almost completely blocked the sun from shining through. The clouds swirled,the grey colour indicating they would soon drop their load,causing it to chuck it down. She chuckled, patting Pepper’s neck, “Send 'er down, Huey!”
