Description Species: Royal Foreus
Class: Snake Wyvern
Rank: High Rank
Element: Fire

Weakness: Ice

Biological Description:

The Royal Foreus is a Snake Wyvern who resides in Brimstone River. With fireproof scales adapted to survive between the charred earth and the small forest on the outskirts, Royal Foreus are usually skittish, and are rarely seen around other monsters or hunters. This doesn’t mean, however, that they are harmless. They are carnivores, and will feed on other monsters, including Bishaten, Berserker Tetsucabra, and even Lavasioth.

While they are mainly a constrictor, Royal Foreus are capable of exhaling fire from the small pits on their mouth, neck, body and tail. In particular, when one of these Snake Wyvern feels threatened, they will curl up into a ball, and spit fire all around them, causing a flaming circle that makes it difficult to get close.

Another interesting adaptation of the Royal Foreus is that no specimen presents the same patterns of their scales. The Guild has managed to find, however, 7 main types of patterns that change slightly within the individuals. These patterns are:

  • Wildtype: the most common pattern.

  • Clown: a reduced pattern with a dark, wide dorsal stripe.Β

  • Pinstripe: a pattern that reduces the dark elements of it causing the creature to look more like a solid color with thin pinstripe lines.

  • Mojave: this pattern causes the bubbles on the sides to produce one darker dot inside them, almost like a keyhole.

  • Calico: the calico pattern causes the light color of the underbelly to appear as splashes on the side of the body as well.

  • Super Stripe: this pattern makes the monster appear as mostly patternless, but with a long, lighter stripe that runs across the the back of it, with a thin darker outline.

  • Patternless: there have been cases of individuals that have been shown to not have any patterns at all.

Key Traits:

- Small orange pits on the side of the mouth, neck, body, and tail;

- Sturdy brown scales on the back;
- Lighter colored scales on the belly;
- a "crown" made up of one horn in the front middle, two on the side, and two on the back on the head;
- Five scaled spikes at the end of the tail;

Trivia:

- this monster is, of course, inspired to ball pythons;

- the crown and the first part of the name is a reference to the scientific name of ball pythons, Python regius ("royal python");
