Description i've had mac since mid-september 2022 and yet never really got around to designing vincent... well, here he is.

they share the same basic appearance and such (including being the same species - the japanese macaque), but are separate identities and have different personalities. part of the reason why i haven't gotten around to designing vincent is because i was still working out his personality. there's still a lot being worked out, though i think i have a better understanding of what i'm going for. given that mac is the original identity, he tends to show up more often, however

basically, vincent is sometimes friendly, and sometimes distant (same, really). vince is also more confident and strong-willed than mac, though due to the aforementioned tendency to be distant at times, he's not as good at connecting emotionally with others - mac is nearly the opposite in this department, since he's pretty much inseparable to anyone who's nice to him, but mac finds it harder to interact with those he doesn't know. while vincent does try to remain assertive as often as possible, he is somewhat more prone to getting angry/frustrated than mac is. something they both have in common is that they're both very intelligent, though they show it in different ways; mac is more "book smart" and vince is more "street smart". they're also both very polite for the most part

vincent is typically associated with darker colors, while mac is usually associated with lighter colors. they both wear earth tones regularly, though, and most of their outfits are either blue or grey.

they kind of think of each other as brothers; given that mac has been away from his sister for over 6 years, it makes sense that he'd develop a sort of sibling-like relationship with vincent (though vincent has been around since mac's early childhood).

when i first designed mac, i noted how i was really trying to do my research on dissociative identity disorder before portraying it - i'm a fan of when writers are thoughtful enough to do their research on a certain topic, especially given d.i.d. is one of the more commonly misrepresented disorders.
