As we move into the 1940's, more women were entering the work force as they were needed to help because a lot of the men were overseas. The oldest daughter on the left is going to work at the factory wearing slacks and a short sleeve shirt which was becoming acceptable at the time. The mother is wearing a smart dress to work at the office. The father is getting a hug from the youngest daughter as he is welcomed home.
