Now the idea for this little guy actually hit me a few weeks ago after reading a particular entry in the Scientist's Journal on 9experiment.com .

Long story short, Alpha's creator was a scientist/technician that was part of the team that worked on/modified B.R.A.I.N. after the Chancellor took it away from the Scientist. Once Alpha's creator found out what the Chancellor's plans were, he deserted the team. But before he left, he was able to take a copy of some of B.R.A.I.N.'s original program coding *like before the Chancellor started messing with it*, and put it into Alpha's brain-processor-whatever the hell that is for the ragdolls *Alpha's creator also built him in secret while he was still working for the Chancellor*. After leaving, he made contact with the Scientist, and once he learned about the plan with the original 9, he volunteered himself to test out the soul transfer device.

It worked, yet Alpha remained asleep until a short time before the storyline of the movie started. He was wandering around the Emptiness, scared and alone, when he got attacked by a CSM. It smacked him around, breaking his right arm in the process *the stitching on his right arm came from 2 repairing the broken metal-bone* before finally deciding to go in for the kill.

Now, Alpha is a HELLUVA lot stronger than he looks *he's only about 4 inches tall*. So he goes to defend himself with his mechanical arms, now in full-on panic mode. With the first strike, he snaps the CSM's lower jaw CLEAN OFF, before punching through the roof of it's now exposed mouth with the second extra arm, hitting its mechanical brain and killing it.

After this, Alpha wanders around the wasteland again, but stops and hides pretty quickly, because he's hurt, scared out of his mind, exhausted, and lonely. But 5 actually saw him wandering from up in the watchtower, and came down to find him. Once 5 finds him, and Alpha realises that 5 isn't going to kill him, he lets 5 carry him back to the cathedral, where he gets fixed up by 2, and has been living there ever since.

Alpha is extremly timid, and 5 is pretty much the only other stitchpunk he'll willingly talk to without being directly spoken to *although on a good day sometimes he'll talk to 2* . He regards 5 like a father, and rarely leaves his side.
He has no memories from his creator or B.R.A.I.N. , but sometimes he'll see them in dreams/nightmares *he forgets them pretty quickly though*. For obvious reasons, he's a quick learner, and *the connection to B.R.A.I.N.* quite skilled in the realm of mechanical-type stuff.
