SOMBRE CIRCUIT – The pony at the forefront of Equestria’s technology.

“With a brain like this who needs upper body strength?”

Sombre Circuit (also known as Sombre Starlight) is one of the few ponies within Equestria who know of it’s great technological advances such as high tech computers but also it’s weapon facilities. Computers and technology like them were brought through the mirror by Sombre’s momma, Sunset Shimmer. After finishing her time at highschool and travelling the world Sunset decided to finally go back to her true home. During her time in the human world, Sunset had developed an interest in computer sciences and was also involved in the development of apps and games. After returning to Equestria, she displayed her findings to Twilight who then suggested that this tech could be helpful but shouldn’t be on large scale production. They later settled down together, had a foal (thanks to the wonders of magic) and continued to work on the tech. As a filly, Sombre developed a love for computers, much to Sunset’s delight, and did her best to gather every scrap of information on them. In her teenage years, she was asked by an unlikely Princess if she would be happy to continue her work on technology but be sworn to secrecy about any developments. She agreed and now lives within Canterlot. When she isn’t working Sombre enjoys going to visit her parents and spending time with them whether they be magically sparring with one and other or enjoying a simple movie night. Sombre can come across as quite rude upon first meeting her. She’ll appear uninterested in ponies but she warms up eventually and is a fun character to be around. She’s witty, generally good natured and intelligent. Though her intelligence can sometimes lead to arrogance, she knows just how smart she is and isn’t afraid of showing it even if she’s putting others down. Sombre plays a vital role in the Lunar Ops as she’s the one with all the knowledge not only of the weapons but the missions too. She’s also the first one who was a member of Lunar Ops as Luna reached out to her first. Out of the team she gets on best with Spectra as the pair are both as sarcastic as each other, for every quip one has the other quickly follows up with another. Sombre also has a bit of a crush on Spectra though she fears if she says anything to her then she may lose the friendship they have.

TwiSet is one of my favourite ships (not SciTwi). Just really like the idea of these nerds hooking up. I remember there was this book and Sunset said she wanted to travel and develop apps, so she did just that. After travelling she realised she hadn't been to her real home in decades. She packed up and went back through the mirror, met with Twilight and stayed with her for a while. She did go back through to the human world but her visits to Equestrian became more frequent and she eventually chose to stay with Twilight and then ta-daa! Sombre was born.
