I really really like the one on the right. I think the way the wheat thing has been singled out is great!

A good study of the british climate. Or should i say, welsh.
I disagree with what most of the comments here say - these work well together, and create an emotive piece.
The combination of the wider-angle and the close-up along with your use of depth of field in the closeup work well together to convey..some sort of emotion. Disarray is the perfect term for it. Warm tones also fit well in these photographs.

I do like the one on the right, but feel it might look better with a tiny tiny bit more contrast... perhaps worth a try.
The one on the left I'm not so keen on, but they work reasonably well together.
