Not only in Pain/Pein fight, Hinata doesn't trust Naruto in Naruto vs Kiba fight too, only Sakura and Kakashi trust Naruto in Naruto vs Kiba fight.
Hinata is the daughter of the head Hyuga family and she is weak.Sakura gets saved a lot, as does Hinata, Sakura was, apparently, not born into a ninja family, and Hinata was, Hinata has no excuse for being weak.
