Description I started losing my hearing years ago and had to learn sign language in order for people to communicate with me efficiently. I'm not 100% deaf, but I probably will lose my hearing completely with time thanks to poor health. But I'm not as fluent as I should be. XD ~Spectra615 is way more fluent than I am. And because I couldn't find a stamp on here for sign language, I decided to make one. For those who don't know, the hands are a universal sign for "interpreter" which basically means "I know sign language." It lets people know they can communicate with you if they're deaf or hard of hearing.

I know some of sign languages, mostly I learn Malaysian Sign Language, British Sign Language (BSL) and some American Sign Language (ASL)...

I'm very sorry to read about that.... but I am glad you can write so open hearted about it. I have a new coworker who's also deaf (since he was born) and I am learning Sign language atm. So it's cool that I know a new sign now! <3

Honestly, it's much fun to learn sign language, although I've been only taught a few signs so far. And the new coworker is pretty funny and cool, I already like him, haha. When I speak very slowly, he can also read my lips.

It is. Nice! I'm shocked he's not better at it. Thought, I was able to hear for a while until recently. So I'm better at catching lip reading than most. But it's awesome he can communicate with you!Β

Yeah, his interpreter told us that he should learn reading lips more, but he's a bit lazy about it, lol! XD
Atm we're also communicating a lot with hands and feet, haha.

Awesome! Not awesome about the hearing and eyesight part. I feel ya, though. I have to wear contacts since I can't see anything without them. I know braille from teaching special ed kids back in school but I hope you don't go blind or deaf! There are always surgeries for those.Β

I've always wanted to learn it as one of those "just in case" things, so that if I ever need/want to use it, I can. Β My mom knows a little (I can't remember why) but not enough to teach me. Β

I never knew before that there is an international (universal) sign language. But after I saw this stamp I googled it and now I know. Many years ago I knew a person who knew sign language (she had some deaf friends)Β  and she told that every country has own sign language and if people want to discuss with the foreign people with sign language they use English sing language. Maybe she didn't know that there is also the international sign language.

I think that I should someday start learning sign language because it would really help in many situations and finding a job can be also much easier if you can communicate with the sign language.
