Great idea, I love the representation of pmd's gameplay through the items.
I wonder if it would be better off if you were able to select items other than orbs such as seeds, thrown items, maybe even a berry - would be able to show some the wide range of items types in the game, Plus those sorts of orbs aren't what I would personally associate with PMD right off the top of my head. could swap out the one-shot orb for a blast seed for example.

I thought of doing that, but it might have been a bit too complicated to realize as one move since the orbs already function as thrown items. I decided on just orbs since they're probably the most iconic item from the series. Though I did use a bast seed for Grovyle's back air. I wanted to incorporate more items from the series in his move set, but they would end up overshadowing Grovyle as a character. I wanted him to have traits of his own but also a representative of the series.
