I know that feeling. I did my first cosplay this past year, and it was way easier to run around it than I anticipated. Usually dressing up and stuff makes me feel somewhat self-conscious

Yes, exactly! Quite self-conscious... Like for Halloween or such... But not in this case! Cosplay is something... way different. A different psychology of sorts.
We even head out -time to time- into the streets of old town with my dear Engineer and get photographed by tourists
