Description The Hope Diamond is the largest natural blue diamond in known existence. It is a little over 67 carats, that's not counting the littler diamonds that surround it and make up part of the chain.

I took this picture of the actual Hope Diamond (which is on display at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History, in Washington DC). I'm very proud of how it turned out, seeing as how my flash went off during the shot.

The picture was taken some-time in late January, when I was over in DC for a couple of days. I don't remember what the date was when I took this, but there was a large anti-war rally going on outside the capital building a couple blocks down (I took a picture of a couple of the rally participators ... lol).

very nice shot of it. I just saw it today for the first time in..... you know I think its been over 15 years now. I haven't been to all the museums. my boyfriend and I have been going to the air and space or the American Indian and national gallery of art. my shot was so blurry cause everyone was crowding it and staring and pushing me out of the way. and since I like your photo I am gonna it.
