The Living Flame and the Fallen Star. Stuck in an eternal cycle. Somehow, they always find each other...

I've been in the beginning stages of making a comic recently. These are two of the main characters. There's a lot of backstory represented in this picture that I don't want to get into just yet. You should check out the comic when we start releasing it. This admittedly took me far longer than I'd care to say. I suppose having a full time job is partially to blame. However, I'm very proud of it. Hopefully deviantART's compression doesn't ruin the image. The image is far large than what I had even uploaded. The file was about a gig and a half in Photoshop. It almost crashed on me a few times. I think I need to upgrade my machine.

This piece was created in Photoshop using an iMac and Wacom Tablet. It presents original characters, creatures, and the world of In the Shadow of the Ancients. ItSotA is a comic project that I am working on with my husband, based on a tabletop roleplaying game campaign we ran over the course of years. It was a multifaceted adventure, that spanned multiple groups and branching storylines, and utilized Dungeons & Dragons, Dungeon World, Torchbearer, and Pathfinder.
