Okay, that might just be dumb, but if someone wholeheartedly agreed to let you utterly wreck them for breaking your relative's heart, it would be a little harder to doubt their intentions.
Also Dean Martin's Version seemed like the kind of goofy sweetness that would suit Chase and Clair.
As for whether Chase and his brother have any Italian heritage, I haven't got a clue.
