Very inspiring. I really liked your ideas for an alien planet.
The collors are amazing too, I liked specially the mix you did with earth and water (I believe that is water)

I think they are native life forms ... Probably more like earth-like flora. And they go out into the sky for a while, yes, but probably not forever. If you think about it, all those mountains on the background, are made of a fossilized flower that crashed long ago. A city was built in its center, and there's also a lake.
