Why Jesus died?The most comum answer is "to give us salvation" or maybe "to pay for our sins" this ansers are not wrong but i must say that are incomplete.
I Say it because Salvation and purify are consequences of Jesus death but I must say that was not his motivation to do this.
Jesus Died in that cross just for one reason: To make your smile possible!
yes, that this!! Salvation, haven, redemption and all are just tools to bring happines to us!
The bible says:
João 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Romanos 4:7 `Happy they whose lawless acts were forgiven, and whose sins were covered;
The world could say that happines is in other things, but the true happines we found in Jesus.
Jesus suffered in the cross, died, just for your happines, so in the next time you smile remember it, remember that God gave their life just for you can

You are very close to God's own Heart my friend. This is a lovely insight into the Heart of Christ the Savior. On His way to Calvary, there is no doubt that we were on His mind. Images of us smiling, or laughing. Images of us crying, and praying for a Savior. All these things were on His mind, and we were in His Heart..that had to be what kept Him going. Our need for Him, and His Love for us. Truly a beautiful picture, and beautiful message. Thank you for sharing this, and keep them coming!

I like the deviation!
Jesus gave his smile to make our smile (well, actually it's true freedom and peace and salvation,.... (that he alone can give) which leads to true happiness) possible.
But you got to make a difference between the Love of God and the Happiness that He gives us, don't you?
I guess He died for us primarily because He loves us. Not to make us happy.
Because Love is in the center of God's character, not Happiness.
But anyway, I get your point! And it's true that God wants us to rejoice in the death and resurrection of Christ Jesus.
He died and rose and that's THE MOST GLORIOUS THING EVER HAPPENED IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD!

El encuentro de Jesús con la cruz a cuestas camino del calvario.
Virgen María: por las lágrimas que derramaste y el dolor que sentiste al ver a tu Hijo cargado con la cruz, como cargado con nuestras culpas, llevando el instrumento de su propio suplicio de muerte; Él, que era creador de la vida, aceptó por nosotros sufrir este desprecio tan grande de ser condenado a muerte y precisamente muerte de cruz, después de haber sido azotado como si fuera un malhechor y, siendo verdadero Rey de reyes, coronado de espinas; ni la mejor corona del mundo hubiera sido suficiente para honrarle y ceñírsela en su frente; en cambio, le dieron lo peor del mundo clavándole las espinas en la frente y, aunque le ocasionarían un gran dolor físico, aún mayor sería el dolor espiritual por ser una burla y una humillación tan grande; sufrió y se humilló hasta lo indecible, para levantarnos a nosotros del pecado; te acompañamos en este dolor . . . Y, por los méritos del mismo, haz que seamos dignos vasallos de tan gran Rey y sepamos ser humildes como Él lo fue.

Well... I really cant understand Spanish BUT what Jesus did for us is the most important thing in the world. I´m not catholic to say something about Mary, but I know that she suffered a lot with Jesus´s dead, but I’m sure she was very happy to be saved, and forgiven by his son´s Blood.

yes, but think with me...
Pay for our sins was the way that HE used to make me happy.
It´s just like a shower... we dont take a shower just to be clean, we have other reasons to do this. We do this to be healthier, to be more confortable, to impress someone.
God salvation was the wonderful way for our eternal happines! it is the only way that we can enjoy the true love, the true happines.
In other words... if a father see his baby in the midlle of a road, and a car is going to crush him. He will jump to save the baby but not just for save! he will do this because he want his child´s happines, healthy, life. how disapointed would be to that father if his child think alawys like "My life is a trash, I killed my father! I don´t deserve to live!"
God save us to give us liberty, happynes, joy and a true life. And I really think that he would be disapointed if I fix my eyes in the sorrow of sins and not in the life that I had recieved in change of his death.
this´s my point of view. ^^V
