Description The thralls have always been the backbone infantry that comprise the Dirge's ground forces. While they are comparatively less efficient compared to contemporary infantry utilized by other factions, they are effectively used as chaff, to distract and draw fire. Thanks to the dirge's nature they despite a lack of armor, they are able to survive the destruction of roughly 60% of their original biomass before being unable to maintain a cohesive state, though even their corpses may be used to augment and allow other forces still fighting to heal. Their leg structure is designed to give much improved stability as opposed to bi-pedal locomotion systems, allowing them to fire in extreme motion without suffering a decrease in accuracy.

The second generation of thrall are noted to be much less massive, as well they have a comparatively smaller stature, standing roughly 1.5 meters in height as opposed to the 2.9m they had before. Additionally the newer generation has significantly educed muscle mass, favoring corded muscle structures and elastic bones that allow for much faster movement. Like newer Dirge units, small Zero-point drives are spread throughout the creatures body, generating a repulsive force, though it is not powerful enough for the thralls to be considered a hover unit, it allows them to reduce their effective weight, allows them to jump or lunge much higher than their physiology would normally accommodate, as well as allow the creature to remain upright in and stable even if 3 of its 4 legs were destroyed.

Pictured above is the Light form of thrall. Unlike their typical physiology, where the weapons are fused into a hollow chest cavity, the Light variant rather functions as a direct Emulation of other races infantry, and possess a rifle fused into both arms.
