Depends on the setting.Β Eberron they're just jerks, not always evil.Β Most cases you find the ones who become rangers.Β And in most cases of world made by creative DMs, look for the player playing either the emo or the two weapon fighter trying to be Drizzt.Β Although in one GM's world I could name most dark elves are Barbarians or Rogues after a manifest god basically smashed them and wiped out all their magic users (and thus something like 80% of their females).Β In that one dark elves are usually neutral-to-good and are actually quite common, but they don't do magic culturally...
