So I like the idea that Applejack has this huge family tree and if she may be partially related to Pinkie; how many others might be related to the apple family in some way?
So she is visiting with a distant cousin, cousin Fuji. I think it would be funny to see AJ trying to relate to different customs. Lol, She would use her southern drawl to pronounce Japanese. What could they be saying?....

You know... this of all things reminds me of a fanfic called The Great Alicorn Hunt. In it, all the mane six become alicorns, and as such are assigned guards. Rarity's, naturally, are a group of mares, who also serve as clothes horses from her fashions. One of said mares is a filly named Marigold, who matches the drawing here to a t. She, storywise, enjoys employing the stereotypical deadly she ninja... then takes even more delight in shooting it all to hell by opening her mouth and speaking in an Appleoosian accent, aka a southern drawl.

The words I'd use to describe Japan is tranquil and advanced. It's pretty cool, but its expensive too. Still I recommend the trip, though. Start with a scholarship if you're still in school, that's how I went by myself.

Considering that Apple family is pretty big, they can be spread all over the world. You can say: "sky is the limit".
Perhaps there are some Applejack's relatives in Saddle Arabia or Antarctica.

I like the kimono as well. I just picked Fuji because I never saw anyone else make that connection. They always go with the other names like honey crisp or something. why couldn't they have other relatives else where? Maybe she is related to a bat pony named "Blood Orange" lol, lets not forget her aunt was an orange relative.

After seeing season's 4 episode 9 I think everything is possible in Applejack's family tree. Bat ponies? Why not. Zebras? Yeah, right. Alicorns? This would be odd, but maybe true. I wonder if other ponies, for example Rainbow Dash have as deep family roots as our farm pony.
