I used both Adobe Photoshop and Adobe After Effect. Drawings in Photoshop, animate in After Effect and then back to Photoshop for gif making. I can make this in Adobe Flash for size control but for details and perfect timing, AE was the best (and a bit too powerful for this simple task).

well you did an incredible in this animation  
well thank you for telling me, Im learning how to use animation programs (flash,maya,after effects,etc.)in my animation class and I just want to know what other people use to animate with or think is better to use.

there's bonfire animated gif that I used for reference...but it was horribly pixelated and the in between animation doesn't look so good. So you could say I draw it again all one by one...

For the glow technique I used tutorial from this link  I could use the glow effects from photoshop layer properties but it didn't give me the effect that I want.
