Tails here was one of the most respectful, the youngest, brightest mind professor at that time, he was the main revolution of the future full of machines. Unlike most of professors chained by tables of chemistry or tablets of maths formula stuffs. He was more an explorer, try from one place to another to gain more discoveries.

Despite his serious look, Tails was one of the easy-goin guy, only works driven by his curiosity. But his personality mostly had became more to brother (or perhaps...uncle) role when he become Flash's mentor [link]
