Description I have sketched the desired rough profile on one side of the ring blank and started to saw it out with a jewelers saw. I chose to start with the side of the ring as opposed to the front because there is more useful information to be taken from the side. This is just a rough outline and will be further refined with a couple of rotary burrs later on. As I go through the different carving steps I will lose my center point that I have scribed in. I will periodically go back and re mark them so I always know where the center of the piece is on all sides.

Hey bro,can you please tell me what you used to mark the profile with? It's not that same white pen from your first tutorial.

It's one of those metallic silver pens that you can find at any office supply place. Most pens will clog very fast on wax but these metallic pens come out more like paint and can be used over and over again.

What kind of tip does it have, felt or metal?

Very interesting. Someone showed my a trick to use a sharpie with wax. Rub it on a bar of soap before you write on the wax and it won't get all clogged up.
