Description There are many secret temples on the banks of the Nile. Hidden for thousands of years, buried in sand and submerged under water. No adventurer has entered its dark corridors looking for the burial chambers, filled with forgotten treasures that doesn't shine since the higest glory of forgotten civilizations.
Antique maps, nearly turned into dust, revealing symbols only visible to the eye of the trained archaeologist. Inscriptions and hieroglyphics, invisible pathways mark the spot in the sand where to start digging. A stone carved, a bas-relief, discover an entrance to a deep underground. The filtered light in the dark, softly lit a crumbling passage. Further inside, begins the darkness and the imagination produces primal monsters primal that creep through narrow corridors and wet stone.
Tomb raider or archaeologist, the feeling is the same as the first man going through tunnels not traveled since the death was installed in his quarters and sealed the door behind him. The traps installed to ward off thieves are trivial compared to the unimaginable horrors that await to awake from centuries of deep sleep.

----

Absolutley stunning work, friend! I was intrigued at fist sight by this. Lovely pose and great use of space. The circle behind the figure really helps even out the image. I can't believe the immense amount of detail in this!! I'm amazed by her clothing especially. Wonderful work drawing the boots! There's so many wrinkles and buttons, the more detail makes it very intriguing. Her anatomy is wonderful, especially in her hands. I like the how the sphinx is done, there is so much detail in it!! Her hair braids are flawless, and adorable. Great use of textures all round. I love the whip on her hip (hello, can we say "sexy"!?) e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Big Grin)"/> As for critique, I find that her face is a bit out of proportion, around the nose. The shading there doesn't seem to match the shadow from her stands and lighting is key for making a picture look accurate. Lovely work overall, and I can't wait to see more!!! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/h/h… " width="15" height="13" alt="" title="Heart"/>

Thanks. I spend no so much hours in render this image, the hard work was to find the references to the pose.
The statue is textured and retouched over a image, I didn't wanted this time to spend more time in the statue than in her. I'm so lazy after finishing a pinup that I hate to spend many time doing backgrounds so always try to have a good photographic base to compose an retouch.
About the shadows and lighting, I focus so much in the reference images that I don't try to re-generate the shadows.

Thanks, it's always welcome to read critiques to improve skills for next illustrations.

Oh wow, really!? It's just so amazing, it seemed like this is a piece that would have taken days. I totally can relate with backgrounds after putting so much energy into the main focus! I love the background for this though, it is perfect for it. It leaves the attention to the woman and not the background. It may be a good learning oppurtunity to focus on lighting more~ It's very difficult, and I have troubles with it every time. I'm not saying it's WAY off here, it's not, I was just being nit picky, trying to make a helpful critique you know? You're welcome! I hope I helped, if only a little.
