Description
I played Penumbra when it was just a tech demo before the release of the comercial game, Penumbra: Overture. I found it amazing and very creepy. The game surprised me by its originality and frightening atmosphere. The ability to open doors and peer into them, to open and close drawers gives an immersion in the game that has no other. You walk in the dark so slowly, aware of the monster how you ear to crawl.

Due to the success of the Amnesia illustration I had in mind to pay tribute to the game making an illustration of Phillip, another adventurer alone in a forgotten mine searching for the remains of his father.

I haven't finished Penumbra Overture. After playing some Amnesia mods, I resume my journey through the mine and finish the game at last. Immediately I began to play Black Plague and found it as scary as Amnesia and better than Overture. That inspired me so much to begin to make a previous sketch of the illustration in the same way I do for Amnesia. Then I finish Penumbra: Requiem and finally I render the illustration.

You may notice that Red is taken from a still of Kurt Russell in John Carpenter's film "The Thing". He matches great for the role!. I thought that this film have influenced very much the game. Nobody can play it without remember that awesome film and this is my little tribute to both pieces of art.
