My dazzled stare diverted from Jack atop his throne to the now lighted arena  floor. The lights dimmed heavily on the  bleachers, almost making the seat next to me nearly invisible in the darkness. A shiver traveled up my spine as I felt cold air brush down into the arena from an unknown source. A foul smelling odor, like that of  decomposing corpses, followed shortly behind. The putrid smell lingered in the air for a short while, but enough to make my gag reflex go haywire.

After a few seconds, my (e/c) eyes widened as I heard the sound of very faint cheering and clapping from a non-existent audience. The lights brightened a bit on the bleachers and I grasped the ledge of the obsidian bleachers as I saw the now-existent audience spring to life from the darkness. However, these people were far from alive.

It was mainly the fact that the people WERE decomposing corpses. Their once living skin was now a dull, lifeless grey with huge black veins running throughout their entire body. Large blood clots appeared on the torsos that lead to huge gashes that lead to black, dry blood. Appendages such as the legs and fingers were pitch black and swollen, a brown liquid dripping from the pores of the decaying patches of dead skin. Most of their faces were totally mutilated, some missing their eyes and lower jaw, others with half of their face mangled off, leaving only small strands of skin to fall from the shattered bones and brains. Some of them were fortunate enough to still have a face; their glassy blue eyes stared lifelessly at the arena, the area around them puffy, swollen, and discolored. A few of them had their tongues visible, but they too were swollen and was covered in a mustard colored puss mixed with blood. There was a mixture of both children and adults, men and women.        (Hey kids wanna see a dead body!?!?!)

But all of these poor people shared the same fate...

If these things come near me, I will go She-Ra on their rotten asses....

"Ladies and gentlemen," Jack's voice boomed. I glanced behind me to see him sitting lazily, resting his cheek on his fist with lidded eyes yet with an amused smirk on his pale white face. He didn't even look like he was booming out anything. "Tonight's performance will include a display of several humans playing a game of tag with our fluffy little friend Elon." I felt the throat clench and I sunk down deeper into the bleachers, leaning on the front of the bleacher behind me. I crossed my arms over my chest and brought my knees closer to my chest.  "Let the show begin," Jack hissed happily. I could hear his black smirk turn to a full-on grin.

Despite the audience being decomposing cadavers, they managed to holler and cheer as if they were alive. I gasped as a black fog swirled around me and tightened around my limbs, restricting any movement. I clenched my teeth as they drug me back and threw me onto Jack's lap, still restricting me. Jack grinned down wickedly at me and began to play with a strand of my hair. I bit my lower lip and glanced into his ghastly eyes.

"You should sit with me, (F/n). The view is so much better up here," he growled lowly with a hint of amusement in his raspy voice. I involuntary shivered and glanced back at the arena. "What the hell do you want, Aingeru?"

I glanced to my side to see an angel with feathery-grey wings and copper-colored hair with radiant green eyes. He wore a robe that matched the color of his wings.

"We have a special case for the Spirit Warden. This man caused her much harm and he has lived to his max according to the Spirit Warden rules. He is to be executed, his soul sent to eternal damnation." A black scroll appeared in his hand and handed it to me. I glanced at it and rolled it in my hands. Who on earth is this?

I bit my lip and slowly opened the scroll. There was a small his as I glanced at... a blank piece of paper.

"Did I break it?" Jack laughed and shifted in his throne. He placed his clawed hand on my hand and the scroll and brought it down to my lap.

"It will show up eventually. Give it a little bit, sometimes the messages are delayed. That little scroll there is just evident proof that you have the right to slaughter the target."

"I don't think I'm going to slaughter anyone, Jack." Jack sighed, amused, and nodded down towards the arena.

"Hush, (F/n). The show is about to begin!" I sighed and shifted in Jack's lap to get more comfortable.

My attention focused on two silhouette forms drag out several humans who had multiple lacerations over their body. In total, there were three; two women and one man. The forms dropped the people off in the middle of the arena in one heap carelessly and without any remorse to their current injuries. The man rolled onto his knees and glanced around after running his swollen eyes. He slowly staggered up and swiftly glanced around, apparently confused and frightened. The two women remained on the ground, sobbing heavily, but they too were looking around the unknown arena and it's deathly audience.

"What the hell is this," he shrieked, fear oblivious in his tone," Where are we!?" Jack laughed deeply, slamming is fist on the throne's armrest. He peered one eye open to stare at the terrified people.

I wanted to help them escape more than anything, but I knew that they would end up like this eventually. Part of me was screaming to go help them, the other screaming to sit back and enjoy the show. Jack must have felt what I was feeling because he wrapped one arm around my shoulders tightly.

"Don't ruin the show my dear (F/n). Just enjoy..." Jack snapped his fingers and there was a cage that appeared in the middle of the arena cloaked in a black tapestry. My nails dug into my palms as I heard a rough, deep growl from the cage. The women screamed and shot up from their spots, running behind the man. He glanced at the women wearily and turned his attention back to the cage.

"You are performers tonight in the Big Top. You should be thankful, you ungrateful humans, you were chosen out of billions of people to have this opportunity. I'm not surprised, though, most of them are ungrateful, much like you three. They are never happy when they perform, even when they give the audience a hell of a ride. Everyone always comes out with a frown instead of a big, enthusiastic happy smile. Here, maybe my pal Elon can help turn those frowns upside down. He has a very nice smile and always enjoy's displaying them."

With a wave of his hand, the tapestry fell off and the door to the cage swung open with a loud creek. I covered my mouth with my hand when a mutated, emaciated lion-tiger thing stepped out from it's prison.

It's tan fur was ragged and torn, the spinal cord and rips ripping through the skin with dry, loose tendons or muscle strands dangling lazily from the bones. The tail, or tails in this case, were completely absent of any skin or muscle; just two skeletal bones swinging in different directions. Dark brown stripes adorned the thing's back, giving it a tiger-like coat while a weak, black mane was present on along the head and neck. The skin only managed to stay on the upper portion of the neck and head while from the jaw all the way down past the chest was too absent of any skin or muscle, all that remained was a sickly yellow stained rib cage. However, a thin, pale patch of skin remained under the lower jaw and slightly down the neck. It's eyes were nothing more than empty sockets that had a small amount of black fluid running down the matted fur.

It will be a cold day in hell before this thing is even defined as cute and fluffy.

The women shrieked as Elon pounced at them, his sharp claws extended. They took off together, trying to push the other to the ground to be that ultimate sacrifice. The man stood frozen for a quick second before finally taking off. But that one second was took far too long...

Elon snarled as he crashed down onto the man, biting into his throat. I heard a loud, sickening crack as his spine was snapped from the rough impact. Elon growled and began to violently shake his head back and fourth like a dog playing tug-of-war with a toy. Except a human was the toy...and...and Elon wasn't a dog....

The man tried to scream, but all that came out was a gurgled hiss as blood poured from his mouth. Elon dropped his blood-coated body as he eyes the two women still trying to push each other down.

"You know," Jack said, his voice sounding somewhat bored," those two could have taken different paths instead of having one big shoving match where Elon can take them out at the same time. But I guess that'w women for ya." I turned and glared at Jack, slapping him across the cheek.

"Jackass." Jack chuckled and pat the hand that slapped him.

"Feel free to do that anytime." I rolled my eyes and sighed, leaning in more on Jack. I watched as the two women became Elon's next meal, their screams nearly breaking my ear drums. Not that I blame them anyway.

"Now that was amusing. Nothing like watching humans getting their necks snapped and eaten alive makes me feel better," Jack remarked as he stretched out. I opened the scroll just to check. Nothing. I sighed and rolled it back up.

"What was the point in giving me this so early if nothing is written on the damn thing."

"The way those things work is when you come into contact with them, like you see them. That is when the scroll is activated."

"That's dumb." Jack shrugged and stood up, dropping me onto the floor.

"I don't make the rules, kiddo. The white ones that you will get are missions to go help or heal someone."  I huffed and got up, brushing off my sweats. I blinked and noticed that all the corpses were now gone as if they were never there. I followed Jack as he began to descend down the steps.

"So is this the reason that you never wanted me to come here when I was a kid?" Jack stopped mid-step and craned his head to look back at me.

"Nah, it was always like this. I lied about the renovation things so you wouldn't be scarred as a kid."

"Well too late for that." Jack went silent for a few moments like he was in deep thought. She shook his head and continued down the stairs. I stood there somewhat dumbfounded. Jack used to be so happy and not an insane killer. So how in the world can was he able to keep this up? Unless THIS is what led him down the path. I broke out of my thoughts and followed him out.

For the rest of the night, I managed to play some games, except they were morbid ones. Some more morbid than others. I almost puked at a couple of them really. Jack and I were walking down a path before I heard someone clear their throat. I turned around to see a woman with pale skin that antagonized her raven-black hair that flowed down to her mid-back. She wore a sleveless top that cut off just after her chest, showing off a good deal of abdomen. She wore short black shorts that was covered by a purple skirt that cut off at both sides, bt covered the front and back. On her hands were finger less black gloves that ended just before her elbows. But the features that caught my attention were her familiar eyes and horns.

This was my Archdemon.

"Hello Master," she cooed, her voice somewhat rough but otherwise angelic," if you could wake up and turn off your alarm clock, that would make me quite happy," she said while a cocky smile lit up her face.

"How do you know it's going off?"

"Because I'm sitting on your bed right next to you. I'm connecting our minds right now so you can turn it off. I was going to turn it off myself, but I don't think you would want to buy a new alarm clock." Her gaze shifted over to Jack. "Hey Jack, how the fuck are ya?"

"Been better." Sakiri laughed and walked over to Jack, purposely pulling harshly on his cheek.

"You are so cute when you are in pain." Jack growled and slapped her hand away. I noticed that Jack's carnival began to fade away. I stared at Jack and he too began to fade along with Sakiri. "About time. I thought she was dead to tell you the truth." Their voiced began to grow deeper and slower ever second until all I could see and near was nothing.

I groaned and rolled over onto my side to turn off the alarm. I fluttered my eyes open to see Sakiri sitting at the foot of my bed, smirking at me.

"Good morning my little fresh batch of sunshine." I groaned again and rolled over, covering myself up with the sheet. I felt something drop on my hip. I peeked out from under my sheet and saw my cell phone sitting on my hip. "Someone keeps calling you." I sniffed and sat up, grabbing my phone. I pressed redial and the phone began to ring. Sakiri sighed and leaned back on the bed, resting her arms behind her head.
"Good afternoon sunshine," Dove's voice cooed. Why is everyone calling me sunshine?

"Good afternoon. Is there a reason that you are calling me?"

"Well, it IS almost one o'clock you know." I glanced at Sakiri and she smiled up at me. How long was my alarm clock going off?

"No, I didn't know that. Guess I was so exhausted from yesterday that I needed a good night and half-a-day sleep."

"So you feel better?"

"Yeah, I guess."

"Awesome, so then come on over and we will work on those powers of yours. See what you can do." I groaned and rubbed my hand down my face, taking in a deep breath afterwards.

"Alright, I'll get ready then I'll be on my way." We said our goodbyes and I hung up, throwing the phone on my bed.

"How long have you been out of my body?" Sakiri shrugged and stood up.

"I don't know, a few minutes I guess. You unconsciously pushed me out. I was dazed for a couple seconds since I wasn't prepared for it. One moment I was sleeping and the next BAM. Landing on my ass on your floor." I cracked my neck and stood up, stretching my tense muscles. I grabbed my bath robe and headed for the shower.

"Feel free to explore my little home if you want. Don't try to experiment and break anything though." Sakiri blinked at me with a poker face.

"I will make no such promises. If you hear sirens or a really loud crash, you know I fucked something up." I sighed and went to the bathroom.

The past couple of days went through my head as the hot water attempted to ease my muscles. SO much has happened I don't know how I'm even sane anymore. I chuckled to myself. I guess I was sane before my parents were killed. That hospital, the orphanage, and the foster homes only made it worse. But I didn't want to show that. Me staying this way is pure force. I want to be a better person and alienate myself away from my past. I don't want it affecting me an a person anymore. I will not feel any self-pity for myself, it will only drag me down.

I stepped out of the shower and did all of my necessities that one must do. I dressed myself in navy-blue jeans and a white tank-top with a black jean, open and  sleeveless vest and my trusty combat boots.

Upon entering my small kitchen, I saw Sakiri tossing one of my Papaya fruits in her hand, eyeing it curiously.

"What kind of fruit is this?"

"It's called Papaya." She glanced wearily at me, holding the fruit in her hand.

"Is it any good?" I went over and got some instant coffee-I mean my life-line.

"I think it is. Can demons eat?" Sakiri brought the fruit closer to her lips.

"Obviously." She took a bite and chewed it a couple times before her calm features turned to one of pure disgust. She gagged and spat it out on the table, wiping her mouth and tongue. She threw the fruit into the garbage and scowled at me.

"It tastes like crap. I hope you didn't pay a lot for those because you got ripped off big time. Please tell me you at least a huge discount, they were free, or you flashed your tits for them. If not, then it wasn't worth it."

"They were cheap. I bought them because I like them."

"Well you have come messed up taste-buds. You probably think they are good because you killed them all eating that crap." Aria made Sakiri sound like a little angel with all that loyalty and respect talk. Well, she is an Archdemon, so I'm not surprised. Besides, I haven't even tested her yet.

"I can already tell what day this is going to be," I groaned, taking a sip of my coffee.

"Don't look so down, the day is young and we still have room to enjoy it. I haven't been out of a body for years. The closest thing I got to being outside was when you blew that bitch up yesterday."

"I guess you have a point. We have to get going, I have a meeting." Sakiri stood up and walked over to my door, opening it. I grabbed two waters and we went out the door.

"This is going to be interesting."

We arrived at the carnival and I locked the car behind me. We walked into the carnival and Sakiri was busy looking around everywhere.

"This place is too happy for me."

"Well, happiness is an attribute to a carnival. If it's too happy now, just wait until it gets dark."

"Oh boy, I'll jump for joy." I smirked and eyes Sakiri from the corner of my eye.

"If your a good girl, I buy you some cotton candy."

"I'm an Archdemon, good is not in the job description."

"And controlling said  Archdemon is in my job description. So if I want you to run around it a pretty pink dress with your hair pulled up into ponytails, then I will. But don't worry, I'm not that vulgar."

"If that pretty pink dress was covered in someone's blood, then I may change my mind. I never looked good in pink anyways." I can't picture the Archdemon wearing anything even remotely close to pink.

We sat down at a table and I pulled out the waters. Sakiri sighed and rested her shin on her pale arms.

"So when is this whole hoedown throw down going to go down?"

"I'm not sure, I texted Dove that we were here."

"Who the hell is Dove?"

"A close friend." Sakiri's head rose a bit.

"I'm not a people person. I would rather wrap my fingers around their neck and watch as the life slowly drains out of their mortified eyes. It makes the soul more spicy in my opinion, which is a bonus."

"Well you won't be choking anyone unless I say so."

"Yes MOM." I rolled my eyes and rested my head on the table, breathing out.

I jumped and stared at the woman sitting next to me. When did she get there!?

I glanced around, my head raised. "Where is DM?"

"Oh, he is waiting for us. I was sent to come and get you." I stood up and put the waters back in my bag.

"I would have came, guys. You didn't have to come and get me." Dove stretched as she stood.

"Sakiri, come on, we are leaving," I said with a commanding, raised voice. Sakiri blinked and glanced at me with surprise.

"Yes Master."

 Dove glanced up at Sakiri.

"So she is your Archdemon?" Sakiri grinned and turned her head to Dove.

"I sure am. Keep in mind that I am one of the highest rank of demons, so I'm not much of a people pleaser, excluding my Master. So don't expect me to bend over backwards for you."

"I'm not expecting anything from you." I stopped and glanced at Sakiri.

"Sakiri, I need you to go back inside of me. We need to have siphoned powers today." Sakiri sighed, but nodded. Her form began to take one of a black shadow. She hesitated for a short second before launching herself at me. All it took was her energy touching me and our powers coordinate together again. I shook my arms and continued on, feeling Sakiri settling back in me.

We walked to a large field where DM was standing in the middle, staring up at the sky. As we approached, his gaze fell down to us.

"Ah, there you are. Well then, shall we begin?" I swallowed nervously and nodded, walking a few feet away from them. "Alright, Dove will shoot you a couple ticks of magic. Ready?" I shuffled my feet. I hope I am.

"Yeah, pretty sure I am." Dove smiled and her hands began to build up the crimson-colored magic.

"Don't worry. Even if it does hit you, you will not be harmed," she explained calmly. I took in a deep breath and dug into my celestial energy. I glanced down and my hand veins were glowing white. Alright, let's go this thing. I gave a single, swift nod at Dove, leaning forward slightly. She returned the nod and threw it at me. I naturally staggered back a couple feet while the shot of magic continued to fly towards me. I groaned deep in my throat and saw the sparks of celestial energy shoot off from my palms. I was about to exterminate the shot before I was knocked to the ground by a green one. I shook my head and sat up.

"Here is some advice, (F/n)," DM commented. "Always be aware of your surroundings, never get tied up in only one thing or else that tie can turn into an tangled knot." I got back up and wiped a piece of saliva that managed to run down my chin. I heard a growl inside me and I flinched. That wasn't Sakiri, was it?

"Sakiri? Was that you?"

"No," Jack said, his voice rough and low. My eyes widened and I glanced at the ground.

"What the hell are you doing here, Jack?" Jack huffed and I could feel his anger rising. This Jack and anger did not go hand in hand well. I felt him shift in my abdomen.

"I snuck in without a pass before you woke up. I had nothing better to do today than to see what my little Spirit Warden was up to, but now I see that's it's a good thing I did. Sakiri managed to dampen me for the hilarity of it, but when you're the one being dampened, nothing is funny about it. I woke up as soon as that bastard hit you. I'll tie his and that bitch's intestines in a knot after I'm done with 'em."

I gasped slightly as Jack's form exited my mouth and pooled to the ground next to me.

"Why are you letting Sakiri out?" Dove asked curiously. I saw DM's eyes narrow slightly and he inched closer to Dove.

"Because Dove," he replied, his voice full of venom,"that isn't Sakiri. That is an unchained, wild demon."

"You make me sound like I'm just someone's dog who broke off from the leash and became a lone wolf. Keep in mind that not all demon's are someone's pet that we abide to." DM chuckled and glanced down at Dove.

"I don't know about that, you seem to be the lapdog of (F/n). Is that what you are? A lapdog?"

"You bastard," Jack growled as he launched himself at DM. And here I though I was going to learn how to use my powers.

Boo.

DM chuckled and snapped his fingers. Jack's eyes widened as his lanky limbs twisted into a knot behind his back.

"Such foul language. And no need to get tied up in a knot over me calling you a lapdog. But let me help you a little. If you don't want me to call you a lapdog anymore, at least let me assist you with you vocabulary, hmm?" A large piece of soap appeared in front of Jack. It stuffed itself into his mouth and Jack looked like he was about to rip DM's throat out.

"YUFF MTHR FFFKR!" Jack bit into the soap and spat the rest of it out, his eyes glaring daggers. Dove glanced up at DM.

"Uhh DM, I don't think you should be enticing a demon like that..." DM smirked and pat her head.

"Do not worry my dear, this one is my little puppy." Jack appeared behind DM and was about to claw at him before DM tossed his hand up, sending Jack flying into the air. I watched with wide eyes as Jack shrank tremendously in size.

I blinked and shook my head slightly. Not that I am encouraging a fight or anything, but is Jack trying? I thought he would be a lot stronger than that...

"Because it is part of his punishment," Aria said within me. I winched and glanced at jack as he fell into DM's hat, screaming in rage.

"What is his punishment? I know he told me yesterday, but he did't tell me what is WAS."

"I will let him tell you that, (F/n)." I blinked out of my thoughts as DM pulled Jack out of his hat. Jack was now a fluffy little black puppy. A very mad, pissed off fluffy little black puppy.

"See Dove? Just a puppy." Jack shook himself and he turned back into his original form. DM threw him a couple feet back. I saw black fog roll off of Jack's body, as sign that he was getting pissed.

"Jack, stop," I yelled. Jack stopped in his tracks and he turned around to look at me, the glare still apparent on his pale face.

"What the hell did you just say?"

"I said stop." Jack turned to me, a scowl on his black lips.

"So you would rather defend these two than you best friend," he hissed, his features darkening. I glared right back at him.

"You aren't my best friend anymore, Jack. You may have been years ago, but not now. Nor will you ever be. You may not be a dog, but you are just a lone, rabid wolf who has lost his fucking mind. The only Jack I want to remember is what you used to be before this, after all the murders, after all the lies..." Jack growled and stomped over to me, his tall form looming over me. I shrank back a bit. I saw Dove and DM step closer to us.

"So your tired of all the lies, huh? You want the truth, princess? Fine, I'll give you the truth."

"It's about damn time."

"You said you only want to remember me what I was in the past, that colorful, happy go-lucky clown who would keep you company when you had nobody. Well I hate to break it to you, but that was only a cover-up, I was never like that when I was with you all those years. I have been this way for hundreds of years. The only reason I did that was so I wouldn't hurt you because I was given an order that I didn't want to fulfill so I turned into that fake side of me so I could at least try to prevent myself from doing what I had to do!"

"What was the order," I growled. I could feel the anger radiating off of Jack.

"I was sent to kill you." I gasped and my eyes widened. My whole world stopped turning as he spoke those words. "I almost did a couple nights when you were sleeping, but I could never bring myself to do it. The second time I was punished by your father. That is why I am drained and weakened because he is stealing my energy for his own gain. The only reason I haven't killed you yet is because you're the only one who can end this for me."

"So you're using me?"

"No I'm not! You are the goddamn Spirit Warden! It's your job to keep things in check. And let me tell you this, your daddy has created his own personal Hell in the paranormal world. You have to end him to save this world. I will only be a side effect." His features softened a bit, but he still looked angry. "I'm done holding back. I'm not going to kiss your ass and act like I am your friend. Demon's don't have friends, we don't have anyone. All I know how to do is kill. I don't care who it is, I will rip their guts out and hang them on the wall."

"If you think I'm going to send you any sympathy, Jack, then you're wrong. You said it yourself that we are nothing. But where we really even anything? I guess not since you abandoned me when I was dying on the ground in front of you." Jack grabbed my throat and lifted me off of the ground, his claws digging into my throat. He kept me that way for a few moments before bringing me close to his face.

"I don't want any your your shitty sympathy," he growled. He dropped me harshly to the ground. I gasped for breath and stared up at him. He kneeled down to me, his lips curled into a snarl. "You just stepped on a big-ass landmine." With that, he whisked away.

gees, DM really pissed jack off didn't he, though i get it, it's not jack's fault he couldn't fight back, tho he was trying, but because of jinx, but DM had no right to piss him off, then again if jack hadn't snuck into her body while the reader was asleep jack wouldn't have had to get pissed off, off the Richter scale...and what jack told the reader, only goes to show jack does have some sense of feeling, or else he would have killed her. it's a very good story, i like it a let, as a matter of fact i stayed up all night one night and read the whole thing to the last chapter that was put up and can't wait for the next one good job
