Gouache/Collage/Pen/Photograph/LettrasetIllustrating the consequences of wishing to read people's minds. Instead of being able to read an individual person's mind I can hear everyone at once like a kind of radio static. I tried to keep the colour scheme simple and let the words look like they were the busy and confusing elements so it didn't look like a mess. I wrote the thoughts in circles as if they were 'thought bubbles' and used different fonts, pen, lettraset, chinese text and magazine cuttings to illustrate the different thoughts and minds of the people.

thankyou both for the comments. I got a bit of stick for this piece for some reason, people went on about it in the crit we had and one person said he didn't think the lines towards the ears were necessary. But I tried doing it in my sketchbook without the lines and it just looked like a load of circles around my head which didn't seem to illustrate the point to me. My tutor didn't seem to appriciate the effort put in to it (it did take ages Nadia! haha especially painting the circles) but hey ho, what do they know?! I like it. haha.

I like this one. I can always relate more to things that evidently have a lot of personal expression and a unique vision. I mean, show me Picasso or whoever and I tend to yawn a lot - but something like this, it's more human, it means something.
I think this is what's in a lot of peoples heads, it's what we are thinking others are saying about us but they really aren't. But who knows. I'm crap at articulating thoughts though, sorry. Feel free to delete the comment.
