Not trying to be mean or offensive here, but what's the point of adoptables? Just want to understand more.

The 'point' I guess is that the design and the drawing of the Squig is all done already; people can pick one up and do whatever they like from there on without having to worry about making a physical design or drawing it out. Most people have a Host in mind and just want to pick up a pretty Squig to explore some kinks with, but the reasons vary from person to person ^^
