yeah you are right! its sad actually because the most a thing is beatifull the greater is his shadow side. You can see this in the great cities and even on people, thas why you are always shoked when you descover it O_o.

oh well, what i meant is that people here have two faces. One they show to the public and the other they show to their friends when you aren't around. I heard that there is a rumor going around saying that catholic are academic lies and who ever said it must have thought of Italy or at least about the central-north regions of it. I can tell you from personal experience thatpeople here then do go to the church every sunday and confess and once out of it they start to lie all over again O_o.
As I came to Perugia and meet people from the south ( Sicilia, Napoli ecc.) I saw that they are of a whole different mind then the ones I meet before. You won't belive it but they all are way more open and friendly and even more tollerant. My family and I are Christian Protestant and in our city people consider us Atheist for this Oo!!

I must say here, I met catholics with more sympathy than protestants. Because, when I was in DMS-class I had a schoolmate who was protestant, and sometimes she totaly annoyed me the way she talked about god and everything. I thought she might be the most naive person I've ever met.
But today I think It has nothing to do with religion, but about personality, and I must say... I like every kind of religion, as long as they're keep going their way without being fanatic. Religion shouldn't be a Fandom, It should be a way of going this life, the best way we can.
And for sure... I'm a bit shocked what I heart about catholics since I'm on that new school, and what you tell me that makes me disappointed.
Protestants are NEVER atheists.
Atheist comes from "anti"& "theos"=anti-god
So,If you believe in God, you can't be an Atheist.

You know what? I think the same as you do. I don't dislike other religions but think they are interesting because, like you said, they are all a way of going your life. That's why I don't like fanastist also, because they mostly make you go they way they do and make you feel bad if you don't.
You know, here I must say that many people in my hometown could be called sort of fanatist. As I started my studies in Perugia and lived in an apartment with other Italian students, they didn't make me feel bad or different at all because I'm not Catholic but instead where curious about it, and now we even make jokes about the differences in our religions. So I think that not all Catholic are like the ones I know at home
And you know another think that I discovered shortly? People now here at home are convinced I'm Atheist more then my parents because I study a scientific subject. That is a very Middle Aged way of thinking don't you think? And the funny thing about is that my roomates in Perugia think the same way as I do, and they all come from souther regions ( Rome, Sicilia) x).

Jehovas witness? To tell you the trueth, I don't know much about them, they aren't many here in my region. But I heard that they are also Christian but take some aspects of it differently, like the trynity and the concept of Jesus. That's also why many people here consider it to be a sect rather then a Religion, but then again, they also consider Protestant to be Atheist so there is not much to take on that x).

In my religion it's totaly different, people always say: "science with religion? That won't work." But It does! If you use science& historic holy scripts like the bible you may find so much similarities beetween them, you may see everything clearer than before, you may understand everything better
Uh... I have no idea what the generality thinks of catholics here in Switzerland.
I think the most of the people just think of them as christians, and If you ask them for christians the most of them say:"christians are fools and idiots".
Yes, Basel and a lot cities in Switzerland are protesants but that's just what's written in their dossiers. The truth is, the most of them are atheists.
So I don't know what's better living under fanatic catholics or under atheists.

A very good friend of mine's also catholic and she's visiting the church sometimes, and she's religous, but sometimes she told me that she thinks some parts of the bible doesn't tell the trueth, and she does'nt listen to things the pope says,... so... I think most of catholics here, don't even know what they belive in.

Well, I don't know much about that, but I have two very good friends in church who were born in religion of jehovas witness and went away from that religion. And If I ask them to talk about Jw, they just roll the eyes and look at you like "Oh,plz don't ask me. I won't tell you nice things". XD
But what I think is a positive point of JW... they do what they preach.

Oh yes, old people sure are more narrowed then young ones. They are also way more obsesserd about knowing other people's private life then we are XD.
yes! I totally think the same. science can help you understand things better and see the world clearer. and there are many similarities between what science and the bibble says, even if they don't say it using the same words, it's there! But here people are so....anti scientific. if you would say thouse things to them they would only smile at how stupid you are or think you totally lost it. And then there is still another behave some people have that is very middle aged. They bahave very respectfully with people who have a higher rang in society then them (for are for example doctors, engineers, directors exc...), I mean even between friends they still talk to them in third person and carry their baggages. How old aged is that O_o?
My Catholic friends are religious and belive in the bibble and the pope but they don't go to the church so often saying they dislike it because it became a 'show of' going there, intending that people go there not only to listen to the priest but also to show theirs newest clothing and talk about one another.

Oh, well... that's why I had a bit problems with that protestant-girl in my class. I often talked to her about stuff between science& religion, for example the history in "Genesis" about the world-creation, and what are the similarities. And that science always says it could not be true because the world was made by a bigbang, but the story of the bible and the science are nearly the same.
But she always talked to me like it's stupid stuff, what I said.
She always thought the world was made with magic or something.
And that totaly annoyed me.

I was on a catholic whorship here, but I enjoyed It. There were only 7 Persons there, and we were sitting together and the priest read some parts in the bible and sang in latin. It was interesting and beautiful, but I wouldn't go there every sunday.

Oh my stanking is a good word to describe them. You see, for most of the old population here-mostly woman- their life is not enought so they begin to stick their nouse in other people's and if they*like me xD* don't want to share their private life with they make up some drammatic story because ,logically, why wouldn't other people want to share with them their most private business x)?
Oh my, taht totally sounds like some of my old classmates too. I once told some of them the same thing about the big bang and what it's written in the bibble but they just looked at me as if i was retarded. It's so frustrating especially if these people are the ones beliving that everything around them was made out of magic, you wonder sometimes if they really undestand where the babies comes from Oo or think that they came out of thin air.
lol really, in Hungary and Japan too? I always thought Japan was one of the more modern thinking Lands on this. But I know what you mean, My neighbours hated her daughters boyfriend too because he didn't want to the University like her children but already began to work. In this region especially doctors or engineers are highly seem by society. Oh and the best comes still, here people highly prefers males over females. And boys are highly spoiled. I know boys older then me that still can't cook or put their clothes on a baggages because they have their mother or sister that do that for them.And obviously male have to be SMARTER then women so if there is a woman around who could compare to them or starts doing 'male' stuff she is considered annormal. do people in basel think the same or is this also a middle aged life style that only people of citta di castello have?
Something I noticed Protestants are different then catholic is that when you go to church the pastor speaks about the bibble and the new testament making also references about things that are happening in the world at the moment like global warming, war, terrorism ecc. The priest instead just reads a few passeges from the bibble and that was it. It's so ....impersonal .It's really a discurs that could be made at any time, or now or in 10 years it doesn't make a difference because he doesn't speak directly to the people, doesn't involve them at all, and i think that's kind of sad sometimes.

Err... what you said about the differences beetween protestants and catholics... I do not agree everything you said. You must know there are lot's of protestant-religions f ex. Baptism, Reform, Methodists ...
and they all have different preachers and they do their lessons on their own way. Some of them believe in gay-marriage and some of them not.
For ex. I visited one time the catholic-classes in my school,cause my friend was from spain and she was catholic. And there the teacher showed the whole lesson a movie of the situation in Irak.

You know, I sometimes hear things about myself that I'm not even aware I did XD like for example having a secret relationship with a mysterious man or being held at home by my mean German dad. So don't worry, if your life is boring people will bring up things about you to make it seem less because I mean, your live can't be...normal can it? Oh my really? I didn't have the pleasure to meet people like this yet but they seem to be so very smart and allknowing. How can you tell you don't agree or like a thing if you don't even know what it is? These people are really vain *shokes head*. LOL really? I'm so glad you say this because people always give me strange looks when they realize my first priority is not at all grounding a family and becoming a devoted I-do-all-house-work woman. Here there are some girls who also want to have carrer but most of them want to marry after finishing studing or school and grounding a family. And I personally think it a bit sad because you wold waste kind of all the hard work you did if you want to be a housewife for all your life 
Oh no I didn't mean it like that. I was referring to the priests here and not at the catholicchurch in general. You know, my parents have catholic friends and so on Christmas they fo attend the christmas speech the priest does in our local church and it's always the same every year with no new references or anything, but people keep insisting that the speechs the priest do here are world refered and modern. and it's this I couldn't see or undestand because there were no referenced of what happends around the world like I'm used to when I attend a pastord speech but just references to people or events that happends a long long time ago in the past. That is what I was referring.why, how are your church speechs?

Well, I see... one of my very good mates talked to me very often about "Women should do a career, and not waste their talents by getting mother or housewife."
Well... that might be that you can't excercise your knowledge, but on the other hand you can impart it to your childrens and that's a good investement, because they are the future.
And I don't think being a mother is a waste, because, stuff you learn by getting children and educate them untill they are adults will be one of the greatest challenge. And If you manage this at least you will have more than a good job, lot of money, a big house or personal freedom. I think the job "mother" is one of the best jobs you could do and If I would get the chance I would take it, even I would get the chance to study at the Art-school.
You should know I love treasureing experiences of life, more thang anything

Oh...different sorts xD You must know... our members are having the speeches. And I'm sometimes doing some classes after Communion-meetings and sunday school.
As told... in Communion-meeting's is every member in the same room and then some speecher do some speechs about half an hour, then we split in children-,teenage-,young-adults and old-member- sundayclasses and there the teacher talks and discusses with us about the holy scriptures (last year we had new testamony).
And at last but not least we have classes... childrens together, girls together, boys together, women together, men together. And there every month we have a special classes where young womens are together, and there... I'm the teacher... 8D
... I know... very confusing, right?XD

well, in my hometown there aren't many atheist but in perugia you will find many especially under the science and phylosophical department. So people aren't so wrong with thinking that people who study math don't belive in God or in any supernatural things. But still, not all *raises hand* are like that. But the worst kind you will find in phylosophy. I have friends who study language and who share the same building with the phylosophy students and once they got in a hard debat about God and the World and to everything they said they got answers like " God doesn't exist" or " If God exist why are there wars" or " you are so naive!". Does that sound familiar to you

and save on DVDs cartoons i watched as i was a child (like George, Spank, Lady Oscar) because i noticed that the cartoons of today are shit and i would like kids to watch the shows i loved to watch so much as i was a child
Well the problem is that they refer to ancient events and say to people still think or would do the same. I mean you can't say that Latin principles and lifestle are the same as today. People think differently now, and would be better if priest would refer to events of today and not of ones that happend 2000 years ago and say we would still act and think the same way. That is what I think is not quite right.

Ah btw, do you know the series Neon Genesis Evangelion? It's a series that will start here Italy on mtv next week x) and i heard it's pretty famous, the most loved anime show of the 90ies because it's dar and very psycological. Plus it has also many religious references as well as references about the human nature. I saw a few episodes and thought it's pretty interesting and i think you might like it too since like me you like the themes they are refering to
