Description This piece was painted for the - Comical to Classical - contest held by (you can find the contest rules here )

Was it the booze or magical elixer that made Mars forget about last night? Instead of the beautiful goddess of love, Venus, he finds Obelix in his bed! Even the little dove had a hangover when she woke up to see Idéfix.

The original painting was painted by Louis-Jean-Francois Lagrenee and is named Mars and Venus an Allegory of Peace. link )

Obelix and Idéfix are characters from the Asterix comic by René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo

Awesome piece!!!! I wanna see more of these,, mixing classical era with modern cartoon and comic book characters
That would be a winner combo! I already see some Simpson characters implemented into some classical pieces, like last supper and homer Simpson devouring donuts or something XDD
