Wow I really put myself in this >w> ~ I've piratically never done a drawing without a lineart xD but I tried to without this time ~I also tried some realism, that you can see with scales and hair
I put some textures, so it added more deep to the drawing but otherwise I've done the painting only by my hand
Those scales took so long >w>...Hmm I didn't really know what to do for the background, and I thought of an underwater scene
I'm not sure if I'll keep the title though >w>
Oh and no, she's not drowning
I don't really know what she's doing there but ~Hope you like it !

You didn't use any lineart? When I draw I'm always sort of afraid not to put in one. 
The scales look sweet too, very subtle but still noticeable.
Honestly, I was actually thinking she was drowning before I read the description * Really 3x sorry!

I like how her head is positioned as if she is screaming underwater... I know you say she is not drowning, perhaps she was asleep underwater and woke up from a bad dream? I do not know if she can survive underwater though...Does she have a water element?
