Previous chapter: Chapter 1 - The first Encounter (GoT/Hobbit)

Kili was quietly muttering to himself as he made his way down to Winterfell’s courtyard.
“Kili, Maester Luwin wants to talk to you.” Robb had told him, with that grin plastered on his face. He had not even tried to hide his amusement that Kili was probably about to get another lecture from the wise old scholar and healer.
“What is it this time, I didn’t do anything!”, Kili protested but his sibling just shrugged.

“Don’t know, go and find out for yourself.”
That bloody liar! It had practically been written in his brother’s grinning face that he knew more.
Shoving that thought away, Kili quickened his pace as he saw the white haired man walking towards him when he reached the courtyard. The whole time on his way he had kept wondering what it was the man wanted to talk to him about, but did not find an answer. Taking one deep breath on the last few steps he braced himself for whatever lecture that was about to come.

“Kili, there you are. I sent Robb to fetch you for me. There is-“
“Yes, Maester Luwin, but before you say anything: whatever it is you want to talk about, it wasn’t me… Wait a minute, is that…?” Kili interrupted the Maester to defend himself but trailed off as he spotted a cloaked figure with a horse near the stables.
“Oh no, you misunderstand me. You did not let me finish.” The older continued, watching the change in the young lad’s expression with amusement. “I was going to say there is someone who would like to talk to you.” But Kili was not listening anymore because he had recognized the person that must have just arrived.

“Fili!”
Beaming with delight he ran up to the other man who had already dismounted and was patting his horse’s neck. Fili turned around at Kili’s call, pulling the hood of his coat back to reveal the golden locks and the warm smile that always adorned his face.
They both went for a bone crushing hug.
“It’s so good to see you! Why didn’t you tell me you were coming!” Kili beamed, overwhelmed with joy. “Welcome home, Fee.”

“That would have ruined the surprise, wouldn’t it?” Fili grinned back as they loosened the embrace. “It’s good to be here, it always feels like coming home. And I’ve missed my little brother so much.”
“Yeah, it’s been too long since your last visit. There is so much that happened.”
“Yes, indeed! I can’t believe how much you’ve changed since I last say you. Look at you, you’re finally starting to grow a beard!”
“Oh, that’s not all, I’ve grown a lot as well. I’m sure I’m already taller than you!” To prove his point Kili stepped right in front of Fili, measuring their sizes with his hands. Kili was indeed a few inches taller. “See? Now, who’s the little brother here?” He asked teasingly.
“Aw, and your mouth has turned cheekier as well while I was away! Come here, you!”
Not prepared for Fili’s revenge, Kili was helpless as the older one went to grab him in a headlock and ruffled his hair.
“Aww, NO! Not again! Stop it!” giggling Kili tried to wiggle himself out of Fili’s grip, though with no success.
“What was that, Kili? Who was the big, strong brother again?”
“Alright! Alright, I give up. You’re the big brother. Let me go now.” He admitted in defeat and was released in reward.
“You’ll never stop doing that, won’t you?” Kili quickly fled out of his reach, his hands going straight to his head to fix the chaotic mess that was currently his hair. The halfhearted scowl he sent Fili’s way though did not seem to faze him in the slightest.
“No.” was Fili's simple reply. “After all, I’m the big brother here and as such I get the rights to tease my little brother as much as I want.”
“Oh, great. It’s not like I already got one older Brother teasing me. Now it’s two…”
“Then let’s go and greet him, and the rest of your family. I’m excited to see them again, and I brought gifts for the little ones.” Kili had to suppress a snort when he saw the excited expression on Fili’s face, it seemed rather like he was the little kid that was getting a new present.
“I’m sure Bran and Rickon will like them.”, said Kili but what he really meant was ‘I’m glad you stayed the same, Fee.’

And that was the second 'chapter', it plays many years after the first chapter (that chapter was actually meant as some kind of a flashback) and is set around the end of season 1 of the Game of Thrones storyline. It is right before the message arrives in Winterfell that Ned Stark (here Kili’s dad) has been imprisoned as a traitor to the crown. Fili came to visit his best friend (and practically brother) Kili after a long time (about a few years), since their homes are so far away from each other.
I had this idea that maybe Fili is functioning as some kind of an ambassador to his family, as they are the 'masters' of Lannisport which is the main trading center of the seven kingdoms. He would travel a lot to different places to arrange new trade agreements with other cities. This would give him the opportunity to see Kili more often for he could do a detour to Winterfell for a few days once in a while when his next destination lies near.
He would see and be around a lot and he would always bring little gifts for the younger Stark brothers. C:

Though I can imagine that Fili’s parents wouldn’t be quite happy about it, because their son would rarely be at home (– I see it like Fili would choose that path of his own free will, he would not have to do that since his parents are nobility as well). Maybe they will try to put a stop to it in the future…

And about the thing that Kili apparently got lectured quite a few times in the past – I was thinking about Fili and Kili from The Hobbit and how they are often depicted in fanfictions: little rascals who like to play tricks on the other dwarfs. XD
As for the picture, well I was testing a few new texture brushes in here, I hope I did not overdo it... ^^’
