A year before human discovery and intervention.

*"KRK- All remaining units, this is Captain Crystalline Frost of the Crystal Empire Infantry Corps, your previous CO has abandoned their post so I'll be in charge from here on out. The evacuation of civilian creatures at the Crystal Empire Evacuation Point is 93% completed. Hold off those hostiles until the evacuation is completed. Once all civilians are evacuated, we will conduct large scale artillery strikes to cover your retreat... Wait what? What do you mean one of the Necromantic Mass is coming this way? Buck... alright, all remaining units continue holding off the enemy, remaining Crystal Empire Air Forces along with the Equestrian Air Service will try to slow down the Necromantic Mass. You're our only hope, hold them off until the evacuation is completed. Stay strong and may Celestia be with us all... -KRK"*

"I heard, now stop hiding behind cover and help me fight them off so we can get out of here!"

There were three defensive perimeters to defend the Crystal Empire Evacuation Point.

Perimeter 1, the first line of defense. It consisted of an entire regiment from the Crystal Empire. It also had both the remnants of the 3rd and 4th tank divisions of Crystal Empire Armoured Corps. The entire perimeter was the most well-defended, with fortifications the eye can see. Even with all of that, it fell within 4 hours. The casualties were at an all time high and the remaining ponies fell back to Perimeter 2.

Perimeter 2, the second line of defense. It consisted of whoever remained of the first perimeter and now, an entire battalion worth of griffons, changelings, yaks, and deer from the recently formed United Creatures Coalition. Machine gun positions and barbwire covered the area of the 2nd perimeter. Once the hostiles were in sight, they opened fired, letting loose everything they got upon the unholy monsters that were once their friends and family. The entire battle lasted 3 hours and 53 minutes before the perimeter fell entirely. Whatever remained of the forces from the 2nd perimeter fell back to the last perimeter, Perimeter 3.

Perimeter 3, the last line of defense. It was also the last hope for the creatures at the Crystal Empire Evacuation Point. This perimeter consisted of the remnant Crystal Empire Infantry Corps, the Equestrian Armed Forces, the United Creatures Coalition Ground Forces, and anycreature that remained from both the 1st and 2nd perimeter. Fortifications that benefited the defenders were being used to their full potential because this was the last line of defense. If they were to fall before the evacuation was completed, everycreature at the Crystal Empire Evacuation Point would fall to the same corruption that affected so many others...
