i did one for vampires flowerf0x.deviantart.com/art/T… so u bet ur ass i did one for werewolves too
(this one was actually made first lol)

-There are two breeds: for your reference, the big, wolf-looking one is a "Bloodie" and the smaller, dog-like one is a "Mutt" these are what the average of each breed looks like, but there are of course differences in the norm.

Bloodies: Short for “Blood Hounds” i.e: coming from a line of werewolves in a family. Only created through breeding werewolves. Usually bigger than Mutts, and more powerful. They are seen as the more dominant of the species and can always be guaranteed a job as a guard or a protector because of their heavy build and fast running.

Mutts: "commoners species," -- if not in numbers in rank-- because they’re created through a bite or devastating wound. Usually have physical disabilities and are seen as scum. Many turn feral because of their lack of place in society, and because of this have a reputation for being mangy and dangerous.

Overview on breeds: Werewolves were created through selective breeding and birth defects. They've been around for hundreds of years, though until recently have remained undetected by humans. The transformation for bloodies to turn into wolves is often painless and simple, and because of this make great guards as they can transform on the fly. For mutts, it can be painful and sometimes spontaneous if they get too angry or emotional in a situation. In some occasions, however, it can be as quick and painless as a bloodie’s.

Werewolf bites: Contrary to popular belief, mutts cannot spread the bite, leaving the only spreader of the "disease" to Bloodies. The myth came from a human being bitten by a rabid dog and blaming it on a mutt. The bite spreads slowly from the infection site, causing spasms and acidic pain from the bite until the body is consumed and the person becomes their wolf form to recuperate. This lasts about 24 hours, give or take. Because of the extreme physical stress put on the subject, about 45% of the population bitten does not survive the ordeal. There is no antidote, and if the subject does not die during the period that which the bite is given, they are irreversibly a Mutt. Because of laws dictating abuse and infection, bites have become extremely rare, leaving mutts as a dying species. There are, however, cases every few years of another human being bitten. Because of the extended lifespan in these creatures, there are many in the world but as they die, there are none to replace them.

Lifespan: Commonly referred to as “dog years”, wolve’s lifespans can double their human counterparts. However, they can still be damaged mortally and die. Silver bullets can damage them as much as any other bullet, but if they are shot anywhere outside the direct heart, or brain, they will most likely survive at least a short time. They produce more blood than humans and have large hearts, so that even if they bleed heavily, there is a chance they will survive.

Mating and Birthing Process:  Like humans, werewolf mating processes are sometimes difficult and complicated. The human process is much the same, but in animal form there is a show of aggression and a play-fight until one is nearly unconcious. The show of dominance is to demonstrate that the wolf will produce healthy pups and strong offspring. After mating, wolves typically stay as a pair for life. Pups take around six months to develop in the womb and are whelped in their wolf state, for easier passage through the birth canal. Like their animal counterparts, the pups will be blind and deaf, weighing only one pound. They will make their first human transformation at three weeks, and at seven, are able to stop nursing. Pups are able to leave their mothers at two years old-- if they remain in their wolf state. Growth is rapid for the first few years of life so that the wolf is able to defend itself in the wild, but after a decade or so the growing slows and almost becomes nonexistent. At this age, the wolf appears to a human age 13-15. And while Mutts are infertile and unable to produce werewolf offspring, they are sometimes able to produce humans.

Blending With Humans: Werewolves are typically very good at blending seamlessly with humankind. When in human form, there are only a few slight differences that the untrained eye could easily look over. Wolves are typically shorter and stockier than humans, and may have the variations of gold and orange pigments in their eyes. Mutts will retain their scars during their transformations, so various gash and bite marks are easily spotted signifiers to the human’s true form. Because of misconceptions in society, unemployed mutts and bloodies tend to not transform during the day. Be on the look out for small, stocky wolves during night.

Weaponry: In nature, wolves are some of the most efficient predators, thriving in nearly every environment -- excluding true deserts and rainforests. Larger bloodie wolves -- those descended from gray wolves and dire wolves -- are bred for fighting and guarding palaces and the like. They have acute senses of smell, hearing, and speed -- more than average of their species. Their pelts are often black and short and their paws small to creep quietly. In some research facilities, wolves bred have up to three rows of teeth, all razor sharp and with a crushing jaw pressure of almost 2,000 per square inch, which is 500 more than regular wolves. With added muscle in their skeletal system, special bred wolves can run up to sixty miles an hour for up to 5 minutes at a time.

Pack Systems: Werewolf packs can range from three members up to more than one hundred members. They follow a loose interpretation of a wild wolf pack hierarchy; with an alpha wolf or mated pair (parent wolves; “alphas” are not dictators, and if the pack were to decide their alpha was unfair, removing them from ruler would be acceptable) at its head, followed by the dominant females, the males, and the pups. During nursing, females will feed any pup that needs milk. When pups are old enough to be weaned off milk, the males will take over while the females hunt. Werewolves have an intricate and complicated system of power, though typically the most powerful wolf will be at its head as alpha. If another wolf were to challenge them for that position, it would be a fight to the death. Bloodies tend to form packs with their related family exclusively, whereas mutts band together for companionship and self preservation. Larger packs do not interfere with smaller ones, instead having a balance where there is no fighting on not shared land.

Territories: As would be expected, larger packs have larger territories to sustain their numbers. A territory can range from a few acres to hundreds of miles, and is not confined to woods. Packs can live in cities and suburbs, though with clearly set boundaries made by scent markings that are deposited from glands on the wolf’s paws. A wolf will develop a particular scent relating to their pack after spending time with them and matching hormones in their endocrine systems.  Most other creatures can also detect these scent markers and tend to steer clear of wolf territories.

Diet: Wolves are carnivores--vegetarians exist, though are usually weaker and smaller than their meat eating peers. Typically, wolves will eat 10 pounds of meat a day -- less than half what a wild wolf will eat in a single meal.

Body Types vs Wild Wolves: while Bloodies retain most of their wolf genes and strongly resemble their wild counterpart, mutts tend to be smaller and stockier, more resembling a dog than a wolf.

Fun Facts:

-The oldest werewolf documented lived to 308 years old!

- Some mutts interbred with dog genes can be as small as a beagle, though with heavy defects

-Mutts are usually sterile and cannot breed.

-All Mutts come from Bloodies, and visa versa

-Testing on both bloodies and Mutts are inhumane at the moment and animal rights activists are doing everything in their power to stop it

-A slang term for a group of Mutts is called a Drift -- which is also the name of a group of pigs
