Description
after all this time (many years) we finally had a scarlet tanager in our yard. The across the street neighbor posted pics of two males on her Facebook page. I did go over and get some great shots of one on her lawn. They were eating suet. Tanagers only eat bugs and fruits, no seeds. So you won't see them at your feeders.I was under the arbor in our backyard (undercover) when this brilliant guy landed on an orange (they, like orioles, like them and tangerines) then he hopped off and posed. He was only about 10 ft away.
So it was Bird Day here. All I need is an indigo bunting...

I don't believe I have ever seen a bird so deep red as this one. A eye catching beauty. You were lucky to capture this bird. Absolutely adore this shot

Β Β the overcast day makes this scarlet-colored bird RED. No bumping up of colors needed. Of the tanagers in the neighborhood, this one was indeed an awesome red. Almost hurts the eyes to look at him. LOLΒ
