You pulled off a great collision... your painted planets in this one just look so flawless.

Gotta agree with exntrik here. Beautiful tone and setting, I absolutely LOVE that sweeping arc of nebula over the top. I have really got some serious inspiration from you, and I hope it keeps comin

Gotta agree with exntrik again in another spot, any stars would have ruined it, and the absence of them all really creates an ethereal feeling not often seen in space-art today. The collision is also very well done. Congratulations on a job well done, definitely a favorite.

I really like the intensity you put into your pieces its really freakin cool, just one thing (this isnt really an art thing more physics) It seems like the small planet should shatter more than the big one. It would be really cool if you could see the small planet burst and break into pieces as it splits the larger one. But who knows maybe the small one is denser... who knows.

Floydier, I think your art is one of the most unique and personal in spacescapes. Be confident, u are great man.
BTW, love a lot your nebulas.

Ops, very sorry about that, I really donΒ΄t know why. Maybe IΒ΄m just lazy.

I like the mood the lighting sets. Very relaxing, yet contrasting to the events that are taking place.

cool i kinda liked how the lighting turned out too. be better if the light from the collision reflected on the dust as well. :shrugs:

I have to agree that the upper right part could be a little more detailed. Otherwise, fantastic work. Especially on the planets, the small one is amazing. Keep it up man

detailing it more will be done when i go to revisit it later. like others mentioned. that and my other work (astrea ii). when i can get around to it that is

thanks kind sir

annisahmad [2005-11-09 11:51:20 +0000 UTC]

hmm
i like the planets but it would have been better if you put up a smaller view as our max view in order to keep the un-detailed sections hidden.
good work though.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

floydierCG In reply to annisahmad [2005-11-09 22:06:05 +0000 UTC]

that or i could detail it more like others have said. at the time i was being lazy, but i wanted to show off some of the detail of the planets. the dust wasn't a lot of my concern cause of the collision.

perhaps a revisit later.... or just post a smaller version. not sure yet....

thanks for the comment

As always, awesome brushing.
i like it really, but if i have to comment i'll say that the explosion is maybe too isolated from the rest of the piece...
it would have been cool to see the planetary explosion interact (in terms of lighting) with the nebula clouds surrounding the planet, it would have add some dynamic to the piece...or maybe they are too far and this is just an effect of perspective?

i was thinking the same thing, but couldn't pull it off, when i go to revisit the piece (along with fixing the planet in my last) perhaps i'll be able to. that would be an extra asskicking i suppose, lighting reflecting from the planet on towards the dust.
hmm thanks

haven't gotten a good chance to comment on this one yet.

excellent piece, love the idea and the portrayal is completely unique.

I do see a few brush strokes around the upper part of what I would designate the "gravitational wave" above the planet, the dark blue area over the pink of the light. Other than that it's a top notch piece of artwork and deserves far more credit than I'm sure DA will give you.
