I know this is an old pic, and I've commented on it before, but it popped up on my lists of favorites and a question entered my head.
What do you use? Photoshop? And are there any techniques you can give me?

As for tips...I could try to come up with something understandable later (I'm in class atm), but I'm pathetic when it comes to explaining lol.

Hehe, so am I. I'm working on improving my style, first by trying out new kinds of linearts. I often browse the galleries of artists I really like and hunt for tutorials. :3 Anyways, as you probably already know, lineart is easier to do when your sketch is HUGE, and you zoom in to draw. That way, when you zoom out again, all the tiny flaws in the lineart go POOF. Of course, it's time consuming, which is why my lineart is usually pretty sketchy. (I kind of break the important rule...)
Do what I say, not what I do! Laziness is bad. So rule #1, don't be lazy! Dx And if it's too hard, try to be less lazy. And if that's also too hard... do like me and stay at the same level forever~ XD
Anyways, as for brush size... it really depends on the size of the pic. For a normal-sized picture I use 3px for the lineart. With pen pressure on, of course. (If you don't know how to turn that on, it's in Shape Dynamics, in the "Brushes" window. I turned it on under Other Dynamics as well. Smoothing is checked as well. Everything else is unchecked and at 0%).
For the coloring...well I do the base color (each color on a different layer) and then use three darker and lighter shades for the shading and lighting. Except for the hair. That's just random Dodge Tool and Burn Tool. @5-6% Exposure, 3px brush for the most part. Then I make the brush a bit bigger (about 12px) and put some more light and dark where I think there should be more. But...yeah. My coloring needs improvement as well. Dodge and Burn are tools for the lazies
Anyways, that's basically what I do~ But I really suggest you look around at tutorials

D: Color code for the blonde is #ffffd4. It's really just a very light shade of yellow. XD
I used a light shade of red for the rest.

A lot of them, I must say o.o In my case. I have about 30 characters. Two or three are lesbian women, and there's ... a few gay men... Anyway. Most of my characters are straight.
