Actually being a flametrooper was one of the heaviest jobs during WW2 and had the some of the highest psychological impact on soldiers. Like I've read up some old veteran accounts of flametroopers and it's probably one of the most horrific things on this earth.

Well we will regardless, I guess if anything we weren't meant to kill each other in such horrifying ways. Like the thing about being a rifleman is that you're gonna shoot at dudes who are further away and never fully know if you killed them where if you're a flametrooper you've gotta get up close and you'll always know for a fact you killed those people and on top of that you killed them in an extremely painful way.

I read this one account from a flametrooper, I think it was on Iwo Jima so the pacific theater where the guy used his flamethrower to clear a bunker and when the dudes came running out one tried to pull off his shirt and his skin basically just slipped off, he also said it smelled like someone was cooking pork.

Don't get me wrong it's kinda disgusting that human beings did that to one another like there's absolutely no excuse for how bad that shit it.

But it's also kinda badass.
