Description
A commission for a friend of an awesome prehistoric chondricthian, helicoprion, the whorl tooth shark. This animal has been reconstructed with it's spiral of teeth in every position imaginable, but the current view is that it was in the bottom jaw and used for the capture and processing of soft-bodied prey. This is 8cm long and has a jaw that opens and the tail waves too.

It looks so cute!
But actually is more dangerous than a shark!

Thanks! The saw-like teeth do seem pretty nasty, but I read somewhere that if they tried to bite anything hard it would fly out of their mouth sideways, which is a great mental image that makes them hard to take seriously.

That would be amusing. I think I wasn't clear though, their teeth cause things they are trying to bite go flying, not their teeth. However there are predatory snails that hunt by launching their venomous teeth at their victims, which is amazing. They are lethal too, they're called cone shells and are a hazard of diving off the coast of Australia.
I ought to make one of them too at some point, they are very cool.

That's cool.
I feel bad when people type out really long replies and I say 4 words.

Thanks, I am always fascinated by the weirdness of the things found in the fossil record. There were some really strange animals around in the past so it was cool to make one.
