When I wasn't playing Titanfall 2, I was playing Warframe. And let me tell you, Warframe guns are goddamn weird. I mean seriously look at this thing. LOOK AT IT ! What is it? Where's the magazine? How does anything do things?!

But it got me thinking. What if I made some Grineer assault rifles? I remembered that the Grineer make the inexplicably Kalashnikov-esque Karak rifle, looked at some District 9 silhouettes, (Did you know that the Gorgon has almost the same silhouette as the alien assault rifle from District 9?) and decided to make these. Here's what I wrote when coming up with the ideas:
Burstlok
Assault Rifle
“Reverse-engineered from Orokin designs, the Burstlok is an aggressive, intricate weapon.”
Fires three rounds in the first burst, with added impact bonus and status effect chance.
Artist Note: If the Grineer had the Karak, why not give them an AN-94? And make it bullpup so that Warframe had a genuinely understandable bullpup rifle? And make its hyperburst function 3 rounds instead of two? These were all the questions that I asked myself. This owes a lot to the Grineer Bullpup concept by VoidPunch.

Pulslok
Assault Rifle

“Essentially 3 copies of pre-Orokin firearms welded together, the Pulslok is a formidable burst-automatic weapon.”

The Pulslok is essentially 3 rifles welded together, and fires 3 shots per trigger pull with no need to take your finger off the trigger.
Artist Note: This is inspired by the Russian TKB-059 - which was, in fact, 3 assault rifles welded together. With a 90-round magazine. I swear to God, I didn't make this up. I don't know why they did this . This idea came about when I wanted to give Warframe a burst-auto weapon that cycles bursts automatically. And then, midway though assuming that would be the Pulslok, I realized it'd be horrifyingly complex! And welding 3 assault rifles together seemed like a suitably Grineer thing to do.
