Description Took a little less than 7 hours (started this at like 6:45 pm and finished at 1:37 am).
Sorry, it's not very helpful at all, is it. It's actually more fun to have the pictures separately and flip through them...maybe I should make a .gif instead? What do you think?

I was actually going to have her riding a wolf first and...that...did not end well...

My tips:
If you do a painting like this, get a reference photo first. I forgot to do this and it turned out okay anyway but it would have been a lot easier if I had some frame of what to work on next.
KEEP THE BACKGROUND SEPARATE. If you already have it all one one layer, use "color to alpha" to separate the background from the figure.
Try not to obsess over one section. I made the hair too distracting and ended up having to paint something more subtle over it.
Digital art makes color correction really easy, so don't freak out if something turns out bright than you intended.

Yeah, this was made entirely in an oldish version of Gimp, by the way. I want to graduate to PS Elements but rnrrnrnrgh the controls are all wronnggg
